Re: 20 Valves of Goodness.

Yeah still hasn't been started yet, been sorting out some personal stuff, getting a new tilt trailer made in the next 2 weeks then off for some fab work, bash plate, catch can etc etc. then off for tu...

Re: 20 Valves of Goodness.

Not 100% sure on what acid it was, pretty sure it was just typical Hydrochloric Acid.
New cam cover. 2 Speed flow fittings for catch can and custom internal baffle.

Re: 20 Valves of Goodness.

So I’ve basically come to a stand still until I get my motor back which shouldn’t be to far away, then just need to find someone to tune/wire it up. Messed around with my dash which I’m pretty happy with and slowly putting the car back together getting most things painted/cleaned before going back i...

Koyo Rad Overkill For 20v Bt?

Okay so I'm currently building g a 20v and I do not want to deal with overheating issues so I'm happy to pay good money for a nice and big koyo alloy rad but I've been told that running one would be so much overkill that the motor will run cold and I definitely don't want that. The car will be drive...

yoshimitsuspeed wrote:Why would it be dangerous?

I've been told that because of the lift on the cams the vvt won't be able to get enough oil and there for not run properly and put my motor at risk? I'm not saying that thats true its just wjat I've been told by a few people so far.

Kelford 194-C. To run 20v vvt or not?

Okay so I have these cams going in my 20v black top. 194-C CAMSHAFT 284/278 Duration, 9.30mm/8.50mm Lift. And I'm just curious if anyone has any experience running these cams with or without vvt. I've been told that it would be very risky to run the vvt with cams this big. Basically just what to kno...

Re: 20 Valves of Goodness.

Visited my engine builder today, arrived to see this, new pistons/rods and head is all ported and cleaned, decided to go oversized vales and Toda oil pump gears, will have redline somewhere around the 9000-9500 range. Block is being honed at the moment and all should be going back together in the ne...

Re: Built 20v Rev Limit?

I think I'm just going to stay around the 8000-8500 mark and get smaller cams if need be, thanks for the advise guys.

Re: Built 20v Rev Limit?

I definitely appreciate the words of advise, still have a lot to learn when it comes to building engines. I'd say I'm going to go with the Toda gears and go to 9000rpm mark. Yes Fidanza definitely do make them. :)

Built 20v Rev Limit?

I'm currently in the process of building a 20v BT and I'm just curious as to some of you're opinions. What would some of you's recommend I safely rev my engine to? It will be for street use and I not overly fussed on making huge numbers on the dyno, just want the engine to be set at a reliable limit...

20 Valves of Goodness.

Okay so I've been using this site for awhile now for information and what not, I thought it's about time I make a build thread. I've owned a couple of corollas with 16v's in them, this is my current ke70 corolla, I bought the car with a 16v in it but after countless issues I decided to finally go wi...
