Re: Problems after relocating intercooler

Then perhaps the FPR is faulty, as soon as I connected it directly to the boost side it starts to splutter when boost comes in. Perhaps the VSV is always closed and a faulty FPR?

Re: Problems after relocating intercooler

Found the problem by refitting the FPR VSV. By bypassing the VSV vacuum pipe was connected directly to the boosted side which I guess as pressure rose up it ended up over (or under?) fueling. This would mean that the FPR is usually connected to the vacuum side of the intake system if there is no VSV...

Re: Removing stuck timing cog / gear?

I recently wrecked my toothed pulley because I didnt understand how the key worked. I tried everything heating, cooling, pullers, screwdrivers. All I had to do was to tap down on the half moon key gently with a hammer a few times so that it moved into place then it was very simple to pull it out with ...

Re: 4AGZE swap

So put in the guage, left engine off and just ran the fuel pump. Pressure fluctuated betwen 2.8 and 3bar without doing anything, is this a sign that something isnt working as it should?
Should blowing on the vacuum pipe of the FPR increase the fuel pressure?

Re: 4AGZE swap

I've bought the external FPR just because it had a guage (I cant seem to find just a a fuel pressure guage in this country!) So will connect tonight and see how the pressure is. Would the standard 4age fuel pump be enough for the 4agze? If not, where would you recommend to look for a new pump, what ...

Re: 4AGZE swap

I don't see any reason why you would need an aftermarket FPR. You just need to make sure it's working properly. If the hose coming off the FPR is not hooked up properly to the manifold it will not work properly. So the FPR isnt something that can go faulty? Vacuum line seems okay, it is still runni...

Re: 4AGZE swap

Hi Yoshi, I thought of that but trying to fit an aftermarket FPR is difficult. Do I need to tap the hole where the FPR connects into the fuel rail ? Alternatively, if I have no vacuum pipe connected to the FPR is it bypassed ?

Re: 4AGZE swap

Re: 4AGZE swap

Hey Yoshi It is hard to tell because it almost stalls when cold so I have to open up the throttle a bit (engine does adjust when it almost stalls - not sure how this is done). I would say it adjust as it gets warmer, so perhaps there are 2 different issues? I have found that if I keep the throttle a...

Re: map 4agze harness into map ae86

Plug and Pray more like it :P. Personal experience tells me the non-ECU connectors wont match. Of course if you get an AE92 AGZE OEM ECU those will plug straight away. If you using the AGZE OEM ECU you'll also be missing the 22pin connector from the ecu that feeds power to it and controls Fuel Pump,...

Alive and kicking, moved the map sensor to the intake manifold and removed the T in the vacuum pipe bottom right of the pic.

Just need to solve low idle RPM and where to find RPM signal for existing tacho.

In my experience, the only thing you will need in terms of putting the starter at the front or the back is a different cover plate for the gearbox, everything else works as-is.

I bought a 4AGZE engine where the black cylinder part of my brown VSV has broken off (not sure what that is). I will be doing the ABV mod which essentially removes the blue VSV, could I use this blue VSV in place of the brown one, (wont look so hot because of the brown connector going on the blue vs...
