Found the problem by refitting the FPR VSV. By bypassing the VSV vacuum pipe was connected directly to the boosted side which I guess as pressure rose up it ended up over (or under?) fueling. So put in the guage, left engine off and just ran the fuel pump. Pressure fluctuated betwen 2.8 and 3bar without doing anything, is this a sign that something isnt working as it should?

I don't see any reason why you would need an aftermarket FPR. You just need to make sure it's working properly. In my experience, the only thing you will need in terms of putting the starter at the front or the back is a different cover plate for the gearbox, everything else works as-is.
