Re: Which Catcams for 16v 4age

@Jimmee1990
My head is flowing 190CFM @ 9mm lift and 20inch water with std valves. Current CR is 11.5 so I hope this can be increased to 12 by shaving the head.

Which Catcams for 16v 4age

I am aiming for max hp @ 8400rpm (have a 9000 redline) and max torque @ 5500rpm; I have all the goodies to run any kind of cam. Which do you think will meet these requirements the best? I am not interested in any other cam brands. I have tried to contact Catcams about this but don't get anything use...

Re: AE86 suspension setup, advice/comments.

6 - 4,7 and TRD dampers, rears adjustable as a minimum. There's your answer - now stop thinking and go swipe your bankcard :D

Re: Bilstein or Koni

Running TRD's - fixed in the front and adjustable in the back. Once had yellow Koni's - remember you could adjust them by detaching the bottom and turn the shock.

The original ones from TRD are discontinued...

Re: Next goal: 200hp

So whats the conclusion here? If my cylinder will fill faster I should also trap more air and get a bigger bang - right? So money aside - this is good. Can the area under the graph be used to estimate hp gain?

Not sure this is what you mean, but:
Silvertop ID 42mm
Martelius R1 41,5mm

Re: Next goal: 200hp

for the valves... there are a few manufacturers... Supertech advertises a lot, but SI and Ferrea both offer 2mm O/S 4AG valves as well. If you keep lifts under 10.5, you can use Toda valve springs instead of double springs.... which requires special guides... seals... springs... and retainers(big c...

Re: Next goal: 200hp

Why not try the cams you already have with the large valves ? Those cams certainly appear to produce the goods ! Using lift of more than 9.5mm will require that a relief is cut out of the head for each of the lobes. I will not be doing this build myself so not going all-in first time will double th...

Re: Next goal: 200hp

given that i now will get bigger valves, run a shimless setup and can increase the CR by shaving the head what cams will you guys recommend? yoshimitsuspeed mentioned kelford being a really good cam - what about catcams that are easy to source in europe?

Then I am very puzzled by the fact that (almost) all cam companies offer cams with lift in the +8mm range - some, like catcams, even offer +10mm.

Next goal: 200hp

So my current engine is making 189hp (crank) @ 8400rpm. If aiming for 200hp would I benefit more from increased lift or bigger valves. If higher lift I am ready to convert to a shimless setup. My compression ratio could also be bumped a bit. CURRENT MODIFICATIONS: Ported head, SilverTop ITB's, FA co...

Re: Improving Suspension and Handling

I am running Ventura springs (butter soft compared to 8/6kg's) and TRD dampers and love it + 15" wheels. The dampers are adjustable in the rear which you can use to adjust the balance of the car. 1 for street driving, 8 for drift and 4-6 for track. I have been to the Nurburgring 3 times with th...
