SR5 Coupe interior panel removal
Hey all. Found a guy in SoCal who ended up getting the rear end of his SR5 coupe totaled, so I'm buying the interior from him to fix up/replace mine which is in pretty bad shape. He's removing everything in the interior that he can and he's run into an issue he asked me about. He can't seem to figur...

Forgive my ignorance, but what exactly is the T3? I see the term on this forum quite a bit and still am not sure what it pertains to.

Re: Help with Gas Tank replacement Options
RockAuto has them for $145.
Make sure to order the one for the coupe. I accidentally ordered the one for the "hatchback" when that's their term for the 4 door sedan from that year. Will be ordering the correct one next paycheck.

This looks like the burgundy interior?
If so, I'm trying to find replacement caps for the seat belt brackets. Mine have cracked and fallen apart due to age.

Turns out I got the wrong fuel tank, it's for the FWD Sedan. Oops.
Anyway, car made it from San Diego to Phoenix last night purring like a kitten. Got 29.3 mpg!

Re: 84 sr5 coupe
There is a LOT of work involved in swapping out the 4AC engine to a 4AG engine. There's a writeup thread, but to do it properly you need to find a GTS donor car for the easiest and cheapest method. As someone has already said, the best thing you can do is swap out the carb for a Weber 32/36. Gets ri...

Interior door panel replacement - AE86 SR5
Hey all! I've read up on the forums about replacing or reskinning the original interior door panels. I would love to do this - the problem is, the armrest and panel is molded as one solid plastic unit. The handhold is broken from decades of use and cuts into my hand when I go to close the car door. ...

Re: I finally got one!
just use the correct tools. you should be okay, everything is pretty straight forward with the corollas. I removed my tank, emptyed, cleaned as much as i could using my own method ( a damn chain) Jiggle wiggle, poured gas and did that 15 times. I do not suggest anyone doing what i did, but it worked...

Re: I finally got one!
Car got out of the shop today. Tech said the fuel tank was rusted to hell as both the carb and the fuel filter were packed with it. Was able to get a new tank with all assorted gaskets except the filler neck gasket for $116 shipped. Anything I should know that may surprise me before I take the car t...

Re: I finally got one!
I'm honestly debating what to do with it. The same friend who told me they'd strangle me has asked me not to do any type of crazy external modification to it because, as he put it, "that's probably the last stock 86 in America in that condition" The only two plans I have for it curre...

Hi all! New poster, first post here. Pleased to be able to join your community! I've wanted an AE86 for years but sadly was never able to find one once the popularity of Initial D took off where I live for a reasonable price. My folks recently gave me 4 grand to use towards the purchase of a new veh...
