In the end it depends on the knock limit and exhaust gas temperatures.

Re: 7afe/4afe obd2 pump vs early 4age pump
Yea i figure the oil squirters were the real reason for the extra volume needed. On that note i may also see what i can rig together using a 4ag pump and a local welding shop.mabye an aluminum flange can be welded in and reinforced a bit. I still want to make the obd2 style crank pickup location via...

7afe/4afe obd2 pump vs early 4age pump
I'd like to know anyone's experiences running a 4a/7afe oil pump on their 4ag. IIRC the pressure specifications are the same but after opening up a couple of used pumps from an 87 mr2 and a 97 ae100 corolla (4afe) I've measured the pump gear thickness at 8mm for the 4age pump (square tooth design) a...

Re: 7afe Oil Pump + 20v ?
I've been thinking about this lately as a solution to my timing issues. I will be installing MS2 fuel injection soon and I want a stable crank trigger that doesn't require running without lower timing covers or single row oem crank pulleys. I'm a bit concerned about running a 4afe/7afe pump on my 4a...

Re: Carbureting the 4AGE essentials
Just a little home made upgrade I made to fix the whole bike carb throttle size difference issue. I wish CAD parts weren't so damn expensive or i'd just get someone to CNC mill one, but this will do nicely. Just need to find smaller hardware to attatch the two throttle wheels... http://puu.sh/kvnjq/...

Axle widths are zenki ae86 spec so it should work if the length is right, but I'm just not sure. Plus assuming thi...

Alright Installed some poly front lower control arm bushings and i'm going to remove my rear bar for the autocross this sunday. I'm planning on refreshing my current suspension. Now that I'm in FSP I can go kind of wild, but I'm limited to my budget and daily driver concerns. Requirements 1. Daily driver friendly- I'm not a fan of harsh rides and the road to my job is VERY bad (all the shops in the area use it for checking s...

My engine is out of an 87 mr2 and it's a bigport 7 rib block with 18/40
I know the 2nd gen bigport has the 7 rib block but i'm still confused on if they have high comp internals or not.

After going back to look at the axle code and doing a bit more research, it looks like I have a T382 dif. The pinion nut was also painted purple, not blue as I originally thought. I'm definatly going to have to change that final drive.

What Rear end do I have?
Picked up a rear end from a 1985 celica GT (not IRS), the axle code on the plate said T283, which SHOULD be 6.7 inch LSD, but I'm confused as there's no LSD oil plate( i know it doesn't mean much) and I thought only the celica GTS came with LSD. Also, the pinion nut is painted blue, I cant remember ...

Re: Carbureting the 4AGE essentials
Well as long as it is drivable it should be good, once you get you fuel leak fixed go out and drive it. Because the AFRs will be different with load on the motor. The usual way with these, you do the mains first then work your way to the needle settings. And the lift off "richness" is nor...
