Life gets in the way but I'm pretty sure you guys all know that since thats what having a project is about  Anyways, one of the carbs got busted so it was time for a rebuild. Took out the carbs and decided to polish the valve cover. it's not the...

Want to put AW11 manual rack in TE72
So like the title says I'm looking to do a swap to a manual rack because I have the recirculating ball and I want more steering feel and input. What parts to I need? From what I've researched, I see that you need AE86 cross member AW11 Rack and Pinion AE86 U joint? (Not sure what theyre talking abou...

Re: Brake problems
My mechanic told me that I had not put on the calipers properly and that it was barely loosely fitted. He wasn't able to show me but he says when i change the pads again or do something with the brakes to call him and he'll tell me exactly what i need to do to have the brakes put on properly.

Re: Brake problems
Finally fixed the problem guys. It was because the way i put on the front caliper. Apparently it was only a mm off and it caused my whole system to go bonkers. >_< apparently the ae86 front calipers are like that.

No it doesn't sink all the way. But it's not as stiff as when I pumped it up a few minutes ago

Re: Brake problems
So what happens when I pump the pedal when the engine is off is that it stays firm. Only when the engine is running is when the sinking happens. The check valve works so i assume that the booster is fine.

Re: Brake problems
Ok I'll go ahead and try that out. Another problem that I'm having though is that the pedal slowly sinks to the floor. I have been led to believe that its the MC but I have replaced that at least 4 or 5 times now and still to no avail. Do you think I just keep getting a bad cylinder?

Re: Brake problems
The TE72 and Ae86 have the same master cylinder. 13/16 bore size. Many people have done the swap to ae86 struts and im pretty sure they got the brakes working fine otherwise they would note it somewhere that I would need to upgrade the master. But would the proportioning valve be a possible cause to...

Re: Brake problems
its towards the top of the caliper. And we even bled it the old fashion way with 2 people. Nothing was seen that was flexing, ballooning or such.

Yes it was bench bled and it was a new master. Have actually gone and replaced it 5 times and still the same result.

Brake problems
Hi all. I converted my te72 front struts to ae86 struts, resulting in me upgrading my front brakes to ae86 calipers. When this happened My master gave out and replaced that. However after replacing that, along with the booster, the brakes were still too spongy that it would go all the way to the flo...

Re: My TE72 project
Here are some shots of the e7 with new wheels! Sadly...it doesn't fit...yet. But the fitment was a lot more crazy than I had originally anticipated. Not sure exactly how I will attack this road block but rest assured that I will make it fit. Whether it be fender flares or some crazy fender roll/pull...

Charger/Electrical problems TE72
I am having trouble with the electrical in my car. If I don't use the car for a day the car dies. I recharged the battery with a tender. Re: My TE72 project
Per request of a lot of users, time to update the very slow progress of the e7 Having an old car means you are going to have cracks no doubt. So what I did was tear off the entire dash. Found a decent one at the junkyard, ground out the cracks, filled them in, and just put over a new vinyl for that ...

Te72 Shifter Shaking
My shifter shakes like crazy when i maintain speed in gear usually 3-5. I'm guessing thats the transmission mount thats the cause however I am open to more suggestions. Any idea guys? Also if it is the mount will the ae86 tranny mount work? Its for a TE72 and same t50 tranny. Thanks guys!
