Re: Cracked poly bushing -- would you run this?
I would want an exchange, there is no point in using an item that is not the way it was supposed to be designed. It may not affect anything, but it is a weak point for sure. The only bushings with splits like that are swaybar bushings. Even if it did work I myself would not be happy with it and put ...

Yup I recommend you stick to something as close to factory as possible. Buying a setup you don't understand will only frustrate you, I see this happen way to often.

Re: need help identifying this gze transmission.
You should ask around in mr2oc. Im positive the sw20 lsd axle stub works. You will need a shorter driverside axle. Chico race works sells a aw11 gze length axle.

Re: need help identifying this gze transmission.
On the E series transmission the factory viscous lsd has the bar in the diff and the open diff has a small circular openning. The aftermarket diffs for the E series also has the small circular hole opening in the diff. The only lsd axle that will work aside from the factory one is the mr2's lsd axle...

Re: Amayama Parts
What about price wise? Are they relatively competitive Usually there is 2 choice in price, UAD and Japan. The UAD option is usually cheaper and is located somewhere else, but the parts are genuine Toyota parts. I think if its something they can get the price is pretty good, some times you gotta pay...

Re: Amayama Parts
I have used them a lot for parts for my redtop 3sge, they are great. It usually takes about 2 weeks to get the parts maybe quicker it depends, it could also take longer. One thing to note is just because they show a part, it doesn't mean they have it in stock; usually when you inquire they get back ...

Re: Think you understand the relationship of torque and powe
I guess to be more specific i'm talking about an engine that makes 20lb more torque at 3,000-4,000 rpm than one that makes 20lb less. When I say an engine that produce more torque I guess I was assuming how most people identify torque as low end power, and horsepower as high end power, although hp i...

So would an engine that produces more torque exit a corner faster than a higher strung engine? all else being equal.

Re: Turbo vs NA
I prefer NA to Turbo for autocross. The "response" of an NA allows me to drive on the limit much easier, with more confidence, and with more precise control. Sometimes I don't want the full power the car can make - I want to feather in the throttle to keep traction on the rear wheels and ...

Re: Turbo vs NA
I guess this comes down to preference, having owned a gen 3 3sge, beams 3sge and a 2nd gen 3sgte I can say I enjoy the beams 3sge the most. And I agree it comes down to learning how to drive your setup, I'm no race car driver so its not like some kind of sponsor will just hand me a car and say "...

Re: Turbo vs NA
As for the power band I don't know how you can miss more of something. For example I drove my blacktop for 6 months with the wastegate disconnected while I dialed everything in. I loved the motor and for a DD was quite happy with how well it did. Finally when the time came to hook up the turbo it w...

Re: Turbo vs NA
This isn't about the ae86, and it may be different from an NA-T setup. I had an sw20 turbo that was fairly quick, but when I first test drove my beater Paseo it felt so much more enjoyable even though it was way slower. The way the NA engine responds is just something so nice, even though the 5efe l...

Re: Converting my Ae82 to become an AE86
If your looking for an engine swap you can do a silvertop 20v or blacktop 20v in the ae82 chassis without modifying anything except the wiring. If your asking to turn the ae82 to RWD, as I mentioned before it may be easier to do a mid engine setup. It also would probably be better to even do an AWD ...

Re: Converting my Ae82 to become an AE86
It may be easier to transplant the 4age to the rear and make it an MR, at least that way you don't have to mess with the front suspension and or weld in a front crossmember for the FR setup. The FWD mac struts would not work to well with the FR setup. With making it MR you know you can use the major...

Re: Mice in car after 1.5yrs stored, what should I do
Most common place the mice would nest would be glove box, the vents and blower motor and the fenders. I've been told that when storing a car to keep the hood open or off, the mice don't like any place they cannot hide. The worst that can happen are chewed wires, dead mice giving off a stench you can...

Re: 4A gze modded HP guess estimate
If it is still on the sc12 I dont see it being much more over 200whp and if it was an sc14 220whp, even with the head job. The limiting thing to the hp here isn't how your engine has been built, its the air pump that is limiting the output. These superchargers usually run out of breath before 7,000r...
