The TPS input is a correction to the main fuel map.
Given that your reason to suspect an issue is it sounding like it is idling at 800rpm and the tacho showing 2000rpm it might be best to confirm this. Some timing lights will give a true rpm readout.

It sounds like it might be 'pre-ignition' this is a situation where the engine continues to run after being switched off and is due to extreme cylinder temperatures. As stated above retarded ignition timing can cause this. To advance the ignition timing turn the distributor anti-clockwise.

Gazoo Racing are making replacement looms and it seems that Toyota themselves are having issues with some of the plugs. The instructions state to re-use a couple of the connectors on the new loom.

If you want a blacktop that is pretty much what you expect to see.
If it came as a complete unit $1300 is cheap so would be worth rebuilding should you need to.

l have no desire to go sequential.
