was a torque/hone plate used when it was honed? honestly I was not there that day so I can't confirm it. I'll just go ahead and buy new rings if that's the case...... The rings were installed properly that I'm sure. What went wrong I would like to know since I'm yet to know all their is about these...

no is got the Std. size pistons one the block only received a honing. And the thing is its only used 2-3 times a week. And you can just smell the oil cooking itself....... but it's not visible.

OK guys, Engine was fully rebuilt with EVERYTHING NEW and properly sealed no leaks, no smoke on low or high revs, nothing to give a hint you can just smell the oil inside the car after 15 minutes of engine running. vvt my friend......... those go bad ........ if you want a new one try amayama.com I believe is like $270 for a brand new...... Toyota has them for over $700 but double check to be sure maybe the price has come down Part Number #13050-16010

yea remember in the end it'l be worth every penny and were talking just the engine, with mine I bought Denso Iridium Racing spark plugs and on top of that Royal purple oil for the engine, tranny, clutch and even a fuel pressure regulator......... yeah way over a grand but hey is your engine and your...

if you doing a proper rebuild gasket kit, bearings, piston rings, oil, and on top of that take the head to a shop just for the sake of making sure is ok....... a grand as minimum. I say again a PROPER rebuild.

honestly if the car is only be driven in weekends it should last..... know people that have mad turbo builds and never had a problem...... just have to behave yourself and take care of your tranny..... they feel awesome after a PROPER rebuild so make sure the shop you choose has a legit reputation. ...

feel sorry for you man.....that same thing happen to me.... :( :( :( I even installed the engine and ran it, when I decided to rebuild found out it was running 16v pistons....... yeah 16VALVE bluetop pistons :shock: ..... I didn't believe it was even possible but those guys pull off all kinds of cra...

but i think the the rods are custom... -don't quote me on that gotta confirm- I believe 1zz rods are way to long for this application.

Ok guys heard a rumor 2zz crank, 1zz rods, 4ag pistons in a 7afe block with a 4age head= 2000cc engine...searched but cant find anything anyone else heard something like this? Here in PR a co-worker of mine is building one with those specs with 20v head, I'll try to post pictures of the engine bloc...

that's the beauty of T3 you can build you're ideal setup -customize- so in the end you end up with something accordingly to you're driving style. Which is a + because not most of us here are professional level driver's. So in the end you get something you can live with daily, and not a weekend warri...

I would respectfully have to disagree with most of you, if you're going to use them for drift, Touge, AutoX.... T3's are the one's to buy "if you can afford them" but in no way the Megan, Koni, Tokiko, are better then T3's you need Facts to back this argument up. http://www.youtube.com/wat...

if there is one thing you can not over look in these cars, that will definitely be the brake system. 26+ years old cars deserve a TOTAL REBUILD, go the extra mile and rebuild the calipers also (please do this properly, or find someone that does :geek: ) it doesn't hurt.
