As far as ecu I'd run a gts corolla ecu or a first gen mr2. Much easier and theyre not too expensive.

In your case probably the fuse. Or a short in your wiring. But my guess is your fuse. But from what I understand, in the headlight switch you should have power out of every wire except ground. And I don't.

Re: fairly pissed and looking for other options
Im running megans. Gotta admit I love the simplicity. Everything is easy access. I can even change front ride height without taking the wheel off. However ill probably change the rear a little bit. I would prefer the springs to be part of the strut assembly instead of separate like stock.

tailights dont work? and another lighting question
My tailights dont work, none of them. Brake lights and everything work fine. Just not tail lights or dash lights. This makes it difficult to drive at night. I went through I think all my fuses. Idk which one it is because none of my fuse boxes have covers. Can anyone tell me which one or send me pic...

Re: The 4AC canundrum, a short story written by me.
Head bolts didd't have anything to with timing I was just giving a detailed description of the process. I finally sorted it out. I'm not sure why this is but timing marks on my distributor were inaccurate. I appreciate all of your input as I checked all of those things. Multipe time lol. I eventuall...

Re: The 4AC canundrum, a short story written by me.
I haven't checked compression yet. However I didn't rush the rebuild process at all. I just couldn't find the correct head bolts. I had it runnig 2 days ago idled at 1000 rpms. Actually ran strong besides throttle reaponse due to retarded timing. I Revved it to 4 after I cycled the coolant. I know t...

The 4AC canundrum, a short story written by me.
As I'm staring at my fridge on a windy Tuesday evening, wallowing in self pitty. I trully wonder if by some odd series of fate I ended up with a demon of a corolla, two major issues are resting heavily on my mind. The first, I can't decide whether to make a whisky and coke, or opt for a simple yet d...

whole mess of vacuum q's
First off I don't live in a smog controlled area. Secondly I didn't buy a corolla to save the environment. I have several questions regarding vacuum. 1. Any one deleted the dashpot? Not sure why there is one to begin with. 2. Can I delete those 4 pesky/ugly vacuum emission ports coming out of the th...

turbo psi question.
Anyone running around 13 psi? I was wondering what duration/lift you run exhaust side and when you hit boost. I was hoping to run 12 or 13 lbs but was concerned with whether the stock cam's are beefy enough to spool before higher rpm's.

People with turbo's only see higher mpg with lower boost and primarely highway where the engine runs at a consistent rpm instead of constant changes due to traffic

It isn't the original engine. I have the head off because of blown head gasket and noticed the seven ribs. I suppose yhis block will be worth keeping after I do the swap.

Re: stock valve springs ok with HKS 256?
A 256 cam is actually rather mild. I'd clay it with your high comp pistons to make sure it doesn't contact. Valve float is not because of duration or lift. It happens because of engine rpm. If you're rapping it out to ten grand, the oem springs aren't stiff enough to close before the piston reaches ...

They actually don't work slight fabrication is needed. Or for about 400 t3 also makes a 4 link kit for the swap. Direct bolt in.

Re: Valve clearance just above specs
By .01 above specs is that .01 mm or inches too tight of clearance? If it's too tight it tends to wear the lobes too quickly and doesn't allow the required film (amount of molecules) of oil between the lobe and the bucket. If there's too much clearance than as the lobe comes around it slaps the buck...

Very interesting info. Thanks buddy. I wasn't considering doing a tune myself but rather having a dyno tune. Probably would be easier and more tunable to go with a stand alone and an adapter harness in all honesty.

Re: Distributorless Ignition Setups
So you're wanting waste spark instead of sequential? I'd call or email aem to get a pinout or wiring diagram to find out how many coil drivers it supports. And if you're using their ignition coil and drivers/ignitor It should be easier than having to wire in different edis modules and coils.

Re: Distributorless Ignition Setups
Does the aem ems you're running have inputs for individual coils? The cam sensor you'll have to find out which pinouts to wire it to. Same with the coils. Regardless of which ems you run you're options for cam sensors are pretty similar. Do you have a wiring diagram for the aem ems?
