Re: SoCal RHD

nope, it has run, but i think somewhere in the wiring for the dizzy there was a short and just couldn't get a good signal. tried replacing the dizzy (got two from japan) as well as the ignitor and just didn't have the patience to trace down the wire short. The harness is very brittle, so the couple ...

Re: SoCal RHD

So rather than spend more time & money on finding gremlins on a setup i plan to swap out anyhow, I've decided to just prepare for the swap rather then the constant frustration. So in the next month I'll be pulling everything out so I can at least start to clean up the bay and work on small produ...

Re: OC Meet, President's Day Weekend Sunday 2/17/14

I might try to swing by, though no rolla to drive. I work in that lot sometimes, so very familiar with it. On a side note, i've hosted a couple tech day/meets/bbq's at my place in Westminster with my Mazda guys, if anyone ever wants to do anything like that here. Have a large 4+ car garage with lift...

Re: Another fuel question thread

I already pulled the Cold Start injector as indicated and nothing came out when cranking. As soon as I cracked the banjo fuel sprayed all over though, so pressure is in the line for sure. I did check the injectors, though one at a time while other 3 were connect if i remember correctly, and found 12...

Re: Another fuel question thread

The injectors are all knew, but it did sit for a year, so who knows. Some of the gas in the system is probably 3-4 years old given i haven't really done more than idle and a few trips around the block. When checking voltage at the clip, am I look for pin to pin, or ground to either pin? With how fas...

Re: Another fuel question thread

Still in the same situation bump... Since the last post I got a dizzy and igniter from Japan, no change. Pulled cold start injector and no fuel while cranking. Read that the brass washers at the rail could impede flow, so will check that this week, but I can feel pressure on both side of the rail, s...

Re: SoCal RHD

that story about the roof make a lot more sense as they are such clean and even dents on the roof. I'm trying to source a dizzy and manual rack from yahoo japan auctions, so hopefully will get it going again in the next month. Hoping to buy some tools to do alignment at the house as well, that's the...

Re: SoCal RHD

well, her son bought it a couple years prior intending to do something with it, but never did. gave him the option of coming to pick it up and after a year, it was time to go i guess. There was some prior history of it here on the old boards, guess it rolled or something while one of the previous ow...

Re: SoCal RHD

Finally finishing a needed garage remodel and starting on the car again. Installed a floor lift, so hoping it will help with some of the work, first thing was to bring the 86 inside after 1/2 year under a cover out back! http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l190/M6MrTea/IMG_0140.jpg Hoping I figured ou...

pickup coil and distributor question

After sitting for a long while, had some issues starting up the car a few months back, gave up quickly and took another look recently. After some searching on here, i pulled the pickup sensors out and found one had lost the plastic cover of sorts, and some of the copper windings were frayed. Checked...

Re: SoCal RHD

I actually cleaned up the older wheels and sold them, the bottom picture is just some XXR 527's I picked up. I haven't even done a lap around the block with this setup in the last year though.

Another fuel question thread

Sorry guys, I've checked here without much luck as well as googled through the other forums as well. Having issues getting the project car going. Was running fine after initial work (pump, injectors, coil, cap/rotor, plugs, broken wiring at dist.) and put it in the garage after having a kid, figurin...
