Re: WTB: Working AE86 cluster (California, NorCal bay area)

UPDATE: I managed to figure out the problem (I think) and I got my speedometer as accurate as it was before (I think). I took a bunch of pics and can share the info if anyone is interested. The unit might still be in need of replacement, but for now it's working OK and I can hold out for something l...

WTB: Working AE86 cluster (California, NorCal bay area)

WTB: Working AE86 cluster (Zenki preferred, but open to Kouki; likely SR5 due to budget). Location: California, NorCal bay area. Mine is working except the speedometer reads 1.5x to 2x too fast, causing me to enter hyperspace. Luckily the digits read the correct rate. Hoping to deal locally in the N...

Re: Wiring Kouki fender light OR clear bumper lens lights

Talked with yellowsnow4free and his approach mentioned in the post actually wouldn't work. Here's another approach that does not involve under dash changes that shagymc came up with. When the running lights aren't on, the corner light and front turn signal light both turns on at the same time when ...

Re: DIY Replica Power Spoon Mirrors on AE86

Yes it's quite strange the driver's side rattle.. It happens on most JDM chassis, and even if you get replica mirrors from China, I've heard it will still shake at higher speeds.. Bugs the hell out of me.. lol. Do you have any pics of them on the 86 from far away? No pics from far away yet. I need ...

Great write-up, thanks! But what's the benefit here? Looks? I guess they're more aerodynamic than stock square.. I've had issues with my power mirrors since I bought my car. The driver's side would shake a bit at high speeds (I know there's a writeup on that) and the internal spring in my passenger...

DIY Replica Power Spoon Mirrors on AE86

Hey everyone, so here's a project I started a couple years ago with the intent of writing a DIY when I was done. I'm gonna switch between pics of the driver and passenger mirrors because I didn't document the driver side as well as the passenger one, but the process is the same. It all started when ...

Re: AC Panel Swap

When I removed my AC panel I unclipped the attached cables on the other end, so the unit came out with the 4 cables attached.

I think you go in from underneath and spread the clip "prongs" out. Something like that... it has been a while since I've done it.

Thanks shagymc! I've been wanting to do this on my car for a long time now. Seems like a nice feature to have the corner lights wired up as blinkers. Meguirs plastic polish. in the 2nd pic you can se the bottle. I masked off everything but the lenses as you see, then used some 800 grit paper to smooth it out, then a finer grit, followed by the plastic polish and a clean rag...aka a tshirt I cut up for just this stuff. It turns out I just needed to prime the engine a few times to get gas! Yeah, with my car I turn it to "ON" then pump the gas once before turning the key to "START"; works great every time! :) Gotta remember this is a carbs only thing, and you should never pump the gas on an EFI ...

Re: 1986 Corolla SR5 4AC engine does not start, Help!

So I'm not getting gas to the fuel filter or pump! Here's some pics of a few electrical plugs that look important but are unplugged. Also, it looks like I'm missing a fuse on the positive terminal battery fuse box. On a 4AC, your fuel pump is all mechanical, so it shouldn't be a fuse issue. However...
