Tensioner Pulley Question

Hi everyone...random question. I purchased a set of these pulleys from Barry, (https://www.mrpltd.co.nz/product/4age-tensioner-pulley-replacement/) and dont really know where they are supposed to go. Does anyone have an image with arrows on which pulley goes where? I have a bluetop 4AG 16v motor. He...

Alternatives For The Blue Heater Control Valve Cable

On the climate control, the blue cable that controls heat, does anyone know of an alternative on how to fix this or replace this? I did some research and saw this youtube video, but didnt know if anyone here would have a way to fix this or have an alternate part number that works. The 4Runner part n...

Re: Engine Break In Period + ITB Installation Considerations

So helpful jondee. Thank you so so much for your help. I’m sure I still have a million questions so I hope you don’t get annoyed by me asking. As for the oil pressure sensor, I see there are 2 inputs for them, an Oil P and the Oil PRS connections. I honestly don’t know what the Oil PRS connection is...

Re: Engine Break In Period + ITB Installation Considerations

I dont have the schematic either...hmm...I will try and get it if I can. And you are right, the TPS is mounted on the ITBs which is different than the OEM TPS sensor. On a side note, when my tuner is tuning on the Link G4+ Atom standalone, I have heard of both a TPS tune (easier to tune and more str...

Re: Engine Break In Period + ITB Installation Considerations

Looks like a generic loom for a Link Atom install on a stock JDM RHD AE86 with a COP conversion. Since the JDM MAP version did not have an electrically controlled ISCV it does not look like there is any provision to run one built into this loom. So I will have to dig out the Atom pinout diagram and...

Re: Engine Break In Period + ITB Installation Considerations

I have no idea how this custom loom works, so I can only comment in general. There should be one wire from every pin in the ECU plug and you will need to locate the wires for Aux Outputs 1 and 2. I believe that you must use these PWM capable outputs for controlling your ISCV. Then you will need to ...

Re: Engine Break In Period + ITB Installation Considerations

This is the actual part used on the AE111 (but not an AE111 diagram)... It is also used on a whole bunch of JDM Toyotas. It's full name is... 23265 FILTER, GAS, NO.1 90917-11009 1 $39.58 These dampers are also commonly found in a straight line in-out configuration and anything you can find at a dea...

Re: Engine Break In Period + ITB Installation Considerations

Here it is... It's a small plastic can with a small plastic spigot on either side found in the MAP sensor hose on many later model cars. It has a bit of foam inside and you can blow thru it both ways. Not to be confused (as has happened) with a check valve that looks the same but you can only blow ...

Re: Engine Break In Period + ITB Installation Considerations

I did a quick search but couldn't find any tech data on those valves. They both look as if they would work, but you need to confirm that they are 3-wire suitable for PWM control. I used the stock 20V 4AGE ISCV and that has three wires. The centre wire is key switched 12V and the outer two are RSC (...

Re: Engine Break In Period + ITB Installation Considerations

If you want your car to start and idle like any modern car you will need an idle-up valve (ISCV). Idle speed control with ignition timing will work fine once the engine is warm or while it is warming up, but it is not enough to get a cold engine started. For that you need extra air and that's the r...

Re: Engine Break In Period + ITB Installation Considerations

Yeah, I had a look and those injectors are slightly modified Bosch high resistance injectors, and they should be good down to very low opening times. Don't lose the dead time (latency) information supplied with the injectors as that will be needed when setting up your ECU. Cheers... jondee86 With m...

Re: Engine Break In Period + ITB Installation Considerations

Damn !!!! That is some nice hardware !!!! What is the throttle plate (diameter) size in them ? I hope you got some nice o-ringed bungs to block up the injector openings in the head. I see that you have 550cc injectors in your list. They are kind of big for a 1600cc N.A. engine and that might be a p...

Re: First Start Up Post Engine Rebuild

If you are running on the factory Toyota ECU then it won't want to idle as your modifications have changed some of the basic engine operating conditions. You will need to set the idle speed higher to keep it idling and that is a good thing as you want to keep the engine speed up around 2000 rpm and...

MRP Flywheel Bolt Options

So I bought a new flywheel from MRP, but it seems the 4AG ARP flywheel bolts don’t fit. Chatted with Barry and he said they made it thinner and that the bolts need to be 3mm smaller. With that said, this is the flywheel bolts for the 4AG (https://www.jegs.com/i/ARP/070/203-2802/10002/-1), but it’s t...

Engine Break In Period + ITB Installation Considerations

So I had a question. My engine is almost done being rebuilt fully and I wanted to know what everyone's thoughts were on the proper engine break in period/process. I was told to run it for 200 miles with break in zinc oil, then come back for an oil change, more break in oil for 500 miles, then regula...
