Re: cannot get Link AtomX tach output to work with factory cluster

Just to be clear, the simple solution outlined above won't work with a dedicated tacho output that produces a 5 or 12V square wave. If that is how your tacho output works you will need to see if you can program a spare aux output to behave as a tacho and pulling the 12V supply to ground at the engi...

Re: cannot get Link AtomX tach output to work with factory cluster

If your ECU has a tacho output that switches 12V to ground you can produce a voltage spike suitable for driving an OEM AE86 ANALOG tacho with a small relay coil. That's easy :) What is difficult is knowing what kind of input signal (voltage/frequency) your DIGITAL dash requires. If the digital dash...

cannot get Link AtomX tach output to work with factory cluster

I wanted to ask you a question, we are trying to wire up the tach output and get it working with the factor cluster (just a side note, I replaced it with the OEM digital gauge cluster). The ECU I have is the Link G4X AtomX and I got a custom harness from MRP to work for my AE86 with the 16v 4AG moto...

Does anyone have a schematic or a step-by-step guide, or measurements on how to do the panda paint scheme? I want to ensure that a body shop knows exactly what to do when painting it instead of looking at photos. Thanks!

Re: Question on Hall Effect Sensor & Dizzy

So even though I have my trigger wheel and Hall effect sensor set up, it won’t work. You may be able to get it to work (if the LINK can be set up to run without a reset signal) but it would be a very basic setup. To get full sequential ignition and injection you need a reset (cam angle) signal that...

Re: Question on Hall Effect Sensor & Dizzy

Bit of an explanation here... https://motorsport-electronics.co.uk/onlinehelp/html/TriggeringSetupCrankCamSensors.html Short answer is that you need a Cam Angle Sensor if you want to run full sequential. If you just run a 36-1 crank sensor without a CAS then you will be limited to wasted spark igni...

“Clean” / safe ITB filter options?

Hi everyone. I had a question I wanted to ask. Are there any safe options for filtering on my individual throttle bodies. With my setup, things don’t fit with the piper cross filter system so I don’t want to run them completely open. Are there clean / safe options that will keep my engine bay clean?...

I am going to powder coat them so does it matter? Just to mention, I have an AE86 so RWD if that answers your question.

Re: Any tricks to replacing the oil pan?

Thanks everyone. I have to remove the oil pan fully because I need to tap a whole due to the bolt not going through all the way (long story). So the whole thing has to come off as there isn’t enough room.

I was more asking if there was a trick to removing it or a how to guide...

Re: Oil Pressure Sensor on ITBs question and after market harness

Oh, and while I'm thinking about this, if your digital dash is a OEM unit you will need the matching OEM sender. The analog one will not work. Shooting from the lip on this but I seem to remember reading that somewhere :) Second thing, pretty sure you don't need an oil pressure switch. That is just...

Hi everyone, I’m installing my ITBs and ran into an issue with my oil pressure sensor on the harness. What are my solutions that I am able to plug in to the sensor so that my digital gauge cluster works as well as making sure the Link ECU can read the oil pressure? Does anyone have any recommendatio...
