Re: Good or bad option for a 4age turbo
Sorry for being a hard head but i do understand what you mean now, I will get the tools to help me monitor my car and ensure its safe,also i should be making it safer as well for tuning and not trust so much in my tuner. Im happy that we agree the car can make power and drive safely with the boost i...

Re: Good or bad option for a 4age turbo
Feedback in your quotes Did your tuner have any ability to detect knock or were they just assuming it would not work? - Im not sure how he did detect knock, Any engine builder who suggested running the TB a tooth off would never see my business again. That is horrible advice. A thicker HG will be a ...

Re: Good or bad option for a 4age turbo
Reply in your post. Squish area and squish gap are very very important to the way a motor performs. For the life of me I don't understand why HKS sells a 1.6 and 2mm HG. Only reason I can think is for people who need to seriously deck the block. Even then it doesn't seem like it would be a big selle...

Re: Good or bad option for a 4age turbo
Let me clear things up with comments below in your post. Do you mean you are running GZE injectors on the stock ECU or do you have engine management? - Gze injectors on After market ECU Do you have a wideband? - NO Do you have knock monitoring? - No What do you mean about your cam timing being off? ...

Good or bad option for a 4age turbo

Re: Advice or Help needed on rwd turbo mani on a fwd
Yeah i had a look at this mani, still thinking about it.
But we do have mild steal manifolds this side,
If you can make me a manifold for $100 will be great but posting it would an added cost which il have to look at.
let me know

Re: 4age 16v split cams setup
mixing cam durations: Good: "allows" for tuning of either intake flow or exhaust flow depending on which causes more of a problem. Bad: often times mixing durations doesn't allow for peak performance from either cam. 272 and 264... what are you using for management? After market ecu - cur...

Results of trying to fit a 4age 20v branch on 4age 16v motor
Hi All As stated above i have tried to do this mod on my car, Reasons why - 20v branch have great design and proven to work well, also keeping to the 4-2-1 system was a great gain due to over price 4-1 branch and a custom made branch with unknown areas of gain. 20v branch bigger on the ID of the pip...

4age 16v split cams setup
Hi Guys
Im thinking of running split cam setup on my small port,
correct me if im wrong with my setup
272deg int and 264deg exh and lift above 8mm
Is this fine?
and im confused about which cam should be bigger???intake is the common due to it allowing more air into the motor???

Re: Do i need to re-shim???
Yes lobe pointing up, which leaves the base of the cam facing the shim, that's where you need to check clearence, what's the most clearence one can have?

Re: 20v exhaust cam on a 16v small port head
@170bhp
Tell me, this spec of 268degree and 8.2mm
Was this done the only the intake cam? Did you run stock exhaust cam?
Also what power increase?
And did you do a re-shim?

Re: 20v exhaust cam on a 16v small port head
16v cams cost an arm and a leg and do not give you much gain, So yes, working a budget we can afford to cut a cam to what spec we want,buy a set of cam gears for it, and still have money left over if we go this way over buying full after market cams Cost vs kw we will win, 20v cams here are going so...

Do i need to re-shim???
Sup people I know that if one is changing cams to a bigger set they need to do shims and check valve clearance but Im changing just my intake cam on my 4age 16v to a 20v exhaust cam, going to get the cam base cut to 16v size so it will remain at stock spec of 250deg and 7.6mm lift. Will i need to re...
