Re: All Plug No Play - 20V ST Conversion

Well done :) Where you have the MAP sensor hose connected is actually the best
place as it gets an averaged signal from all four throttles instead of just from one.

Get it tuned, have fun, drive safe :)

Got a bit of time today so I thought I would try the calculator again... https://i.imgur.com/U9mnNfQ.jpg Corrected a few errors and amended the figures to something more representative of the cams that you might end up with. Didn't really have much effect on the length calculated by the program. So ...

So, some cams in the region of 255-265 duration with 8-9mm of lift, mindful of the lift limit for the stock shims. Regarding intake I know I would probably have been better off getting a small port engine but couldn't find one for sale at the time, so presumably its about making sure the ITBs aren'...

1. I just picked those rpm numbers out of the air to get the calculator to make a demo. Basically I just put numbers in all the boxes to get the calculator to produce an output. They were a mashup of figures for stock and 272 cams plus a few guesses :) I did wonder about the valve closing number an...

Re: Ideal intake length for stock 4AGE 16v bigport?

For a 1600cc street engine capable of track day fun, lift is more beneficial than duration. If you research "rally" cams you will find that they trade off ultimate high rpm power for more "grunt" at lower rpm's to help the cars accelerate out of corners. They do this by increasin...

1. I just picked those rpm numbers out of the air to get the calculator to make a demo. Re: All Plug No Play - 20V ST Conversion

There should be a vacuum source on the #1 ITB for the fuel pressure regulator. You could
tee into that or any hose that connects to that round thing that the ISCV connects to.

Re: opinions on my efi journy

What you have wired up is a generic ignition module. It takes the AC signal from the VR sensor and conditions it to produce a 12V DC square wave output. The output can be used as a cam signal to fire a single coil in the same way that points ignition takes a cam signal off the distributor shaft. Wor...

Re: Need some help with starting issue

Engine needs three things to start... air, fuel and spark. If it ran off starter fluid then you have spark. If you had to use the "choke" before, you will likely need to use it now. Opening the throttle plate a fraction allows more air into the engine. And, on an AFM engine letting more ai...

What he ^^^ said. I ran many different sets of 13" wheels on my JDM spec AE86 and
never had a fitment issue front or rear. In this country the AE86 was delivered from
the dealership with 13" wheels.

Re: Oil Pressure Sensor on ITBs question and after market harness

OK... does the digital dash actually have a gauge that goes from low to high
or does it just have an "oil light" ? If it is just a light then a simple switch will
do the job. If it is an actual gauge then you will need the matching sensor.

The link just comes up as a simple oil pressure switch ? Maybe you posted the wrong link ? The reference to an oil cooler infers that you would be using a sandwich plate under the oil filter, and if so, the sandwich plate would have tappings for mounting an oil pressure switch, oil temperature gauge...
