Re: Education and Car tuning, yeah a boring subject.

Very interesting topic/thread. Before this thread goes downhill I'd like to share my experience with tuning and car life. I bought my corolla as a winter beater. At first as things broke I took it to the local mechanic and he mended it up. After a water pump replacement (which I think he charged abo...

Really outstanding work! Truly inspirational documentary... and it's free! The folks at Flying Boy Films should license with Amazon or Netflix, it's one of the best car documentaries I've seen yet.

Thanks for the video SlideSexy. Whoa... okay, I'm glad I ordered CR01s then. And here I was thinking they were just for brand whores.
PS. I'm not a brand whore.

Re: NEW: Rota Kyusha 15x9

I respect that Shinchu. I was a bit curious of the Kyusha wheel for a while but the real CR01s offer a wider selection in offset. I ordered Works but if the Kyusha had the identical paint, size, and offset I would likely order them. It's hard justifying $2500 on a $1000 car. :-(

Re: 4AGZE - No Boost... help?

You say it makes 7 PSI but never gets any power? Are you sure you are measuring it right. It looks like the relay switches to ground so it should have power whenever the key is on. It should then switch to ground. If you get power you might check out the relay. You might also ohm out the stator. I ...

Re: 4AGZE - No Boost... help?

No joy Yoshi. Did that a couple weeks ago at the shop and the SC never gets a signal to kick in. Manually triggering the clutch sends in boost but I'm questioning why the ECU doesn't want to trigger. My working theory up until now has been the ECU went limp. I replaced it with an AE101 4AGZE ECU and...

Re: 4AGZE - No Boost... help?

I've checked grounds on all the electrical components I can reach including those which I stuck behind the dash. This is perplexing. The engine doesn't sounds normal and it's not making any amount of positive pressure. Here's a startup video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ueHsIqyp8S4 http://i1.ytim...

Re: 4AGZE - No Boost... help?

No joy... replaced the O2 sensor and checked other sensors and it's a bit of a mystery. Not sure what other input signals would make the ECU limit boost. I've reset it numerous times while tinkering. Any suggestions other than find a new ECU?

Re: 4AGZE - No Boost... help?

When you say a hint of knock do you mean detonation or do you mean it makes a thud or clunk kind of sound? I assume you are running premium? If it sounds like it's detonation the first thing I would do is try a higher octane gas or if you are running the highest possible try adding some toluene or ...

4AGZE - No Boost... help?

Recently, I've had an issue with my 4AGZE not pushing out boost. I suspect that it's an ECU issue. I have replaced the fuel pump, fuel filter, and map sensor while diagnosing this problem. Manually triggering the supercharger's clutch shows positive pressure but at around 7psi there's a hint of knoc...

Re: Black Rear Interior 1/4 Hatch Panels - Bay Area Nor Cal

Its actually about the same cost as shipping to a nearby state. UPS ground is an option for Hawaii deliveries believe it or not. The panels weigh next to nothing but are fairly bulky, not sure what price that'll fetch. If it's too much trouble then forget it.

Re: Trueno headlight malfunctioning

It could be that the motors need to be reset. Try turning the headlight switch to position 4 (popped up/headlights off) and twisting the passenger side fully clockwise. After that, switch to position 0 (all down/off). Other than that it would be motor/retainer issue.

Pretty instane size tires/wheels too. I'm looking into the same CBY style setup but I think the max I'll run would be 205's.
