Re: The 50MPG Beams AE86 Build
Cool Project! 50 mgp is ambitious but I hope you make it! 1) I will look into that. Leen stuff is spendy, but it would be nice to not have to cut up the interior. Here is what I did - or at least a mock up ;) : http://i244.photobucket.com/albums/gg11/JJGP2/AE86%20and%20AZ6/DSC_1272.jpg The shifter b...

Re: Full Custom Exhaust For <170hp NA 3 rib 4AGE
I have the Martelius Street manifold and exhaust with CAT instead of muffler. I get 170 hp with a BT with mild cams. We didn't have time to fiddle with cam timing on the dyno but we will try this when I have a bigger plenum for the ITBs. It sounds really well I think, not too loud. This was higher ...

Re: LSD failure - but not as you might expect...
Nothing broke! Only thing found is some wear on the edge of the gears due to the side gears where off on both sides.
I am looking for an aftermarket 1.5 way lsd! And the stock is locking up in both acceleration and deceleration and I am pretty sure it's a 1.5 type...

LSD failure - but not as you might expect...
My diff started making a lot of noise 500 km ago. Once disassembled it wasn't hard to figure out why as the side gears had digged 5 mm into the lsd case. The problem is that I cannot figure out why it happened. All clutch plates are still in good condition and it doesn't make sense to me. Any ideas?...

Re: Daily Driver...Could use some advice
Sounds like a thought through plan to me! If you are going to keep it as a daily driver pick the 5/4.5 kg/mm option for yourcoil overs. Before you buy them search the internet to see if the BC dampers are any good. Most "cheap" 8/6 kg/mm coilovers uses dampers that aren't valved properly a...

Re: Tach signal from COPs
I am currently using an output from the ECU. Problem is that the tachometer reads about 13% less than it should. At first I used a tachobooster and thought the noise made the ECU cut out at 7200 rpm. So I changed the tachometer to accept a 12V signal but still cut out at 7200. Then I realized that t...

Tach signal from COPs
The 1ZZFE coils I am using have a tach output but what kind of signal do they put out? I tried using a oscilloscope connected to ground but I got no signal. I did not try with the scope connected to 12 V or by using a pull up resistor and this will be next if I can't find a certain answer.

Toda Camshaft timing with VVT
I am having a little trouble finding out how to get the valve timing just right before going to the dyno. Bryan aka jdm86gtz was kind enough to send a copy of Todas cam card. Unfortunately its in Japanese so I find quite hard to read ;) http://i244.photobucket.com/albums/gg11/JJGP2/toda.png So to ma...
