Re: Help with 20v Swap Stand alone Recommenation

What I can remember off the top of my head: CAM wheel sensors (variable reluctance) 24 tooth main wheel - no missing teeth Second cylinder identification wheel with two sensors, offset 180 cam degrees (360 crank degrees). No crank sensors. If they can't get an ecu with the ability to handle a second...

Re: Changed timing belt..now it wont start

The key is a metal tab on the crank shaft that the crank pulley sits on. I don't remember off the top of my head exactly which kind of key the 20v uses, but I know it uses one. If you remove the crank pulley, you should see either the tab, or a slot for a tab. If there is a slot for a tab but no tab...

Re: Changed timing belt..now it wont start

It should be impossible to misalign the crank pulley due to the woodruff key. If the pulley doesn't align with the timing marks despite the screwdriver showing TDC, I'd double check they key is installed. It sounds like either the screwdriver is wrong, the crank gear is wrong, or the pulley is wrong...

Re: 4age build synopsis

You may want to consider D17 COPs. They are more expensive than LS1 coils, but installation is more compact and will not require any plug wires. I live in the 'lou and have ms2extra running my 20v. It would be a pretty long drive but if you get stuck setting up the MS I'd probably be able to make a ...

Re: looking to remove stock coil on BT20v COP conversion

I am running a megasquirt running COP and still had to build a special circuit to git rid of the coil. It is pretty much the same as what you are looking for. The problem is, a 12v square wave signal is not enough to drive the stock tac. It runs off the voltage spike (called "flyback") tha...

Re: MR2 bluetop into Gts Q's

The accessories might be different. You may have to use all of the 16v ones and none of the mr2's, or vice-verse. Check the pulley alignment.

Re: AE86 20v BT DD What's your MPG?

I'm also in 31-32 MPG range. 40 minute commute per day, about %80-%90 highway, usually 55-65 mph range. Close to stock size tires. Mechanically stock blacktop, with megasquirt, honda COPs, and wideband O2. Stock 16v headers. Nearly straight through exhaust. The thing that has made the biggest differ...
