Re: Rusty fuel lines... options?

The fuel line goes almost all the way to the fuel tank. A soft line connects the hard line to the sending unit/tank. I had a similar problem when I replaced my fuel filter. I ended up cutting the fuel line a few inches back from the filter at a straight part (using a tubing cutting tool). I went to ...

Re: Shaking/bouncing rear when dropping the clutch to initia

That's where I would look first if I'm reading this right. I have taken brand new clutches/flywheels/pressure plates to be balanced and seen noticeable weight added/removed

Re: Shaking/bouncing rear when dropping the clutch to initia

Did you have the flywheel/clutch/pressure plate balanced together before you installed it? I would also look at the driveshaft balance.

Re: w58 swap question. what fork/slave

I dont know if you know this, but the fork and throwout bearing only move fractions of an inch. I wouldn't worry about it coming off. After reading what Ron aka turtle posted about his w58 swap and my mockups, I would recommend using w58 throwout arm, bearing, and slave even.

Re: w58 swap question. what fork/slave

Have you mounted the transmission up with the flywheel and clutch? It seemed fine when I mocked mine up. Pretty much all of the splines should be engaging the clutch disc.

Re: w58 swap question. what fork/slave

The niteparts bell housing does not come predrilled for a clutch slave cylinder so you can decide either gts or celica and whichever arm you want. I'm going with all celica stuff

Re: Seeking w58 guidance

I'm in the process of sorting my clutch slave mounting. I'm using a stock gts slave and an illegal garage clutch setup. How far does the ram/pin need to move? Or how about the TO arm?

Re: Seeking w58 guidance

I just got my niteparts bellhousing too. Did yours come predrilled for the clutch slave? Because mine did not. I have a sr5 automatic transmission x-member that I'm gonna try and use. I also plan on using the t50 slave with the w58 arm, throwout bearing and hub. I haven't run all of these components...

Re: 20v swap just cranks

Dang. That's rough. I had my dizzy maybe 2 teeth off on my 16v and it wouldnt start. It should be right for base, I'm not very experienced with 20v though. Have you hooked up a timing light to see if there are any issues? Good luck man.

If the warped head was the issue, you wouldn't have compression. Did you double check cam/ignition timing?

I don't know where its from. I should look up who i bought it from (i got it a while ago).
I can take some pictures tomorrow. I'm a little confused about the shaft you're talking about though, do you mean the piston/ram? The mounting point for the slave is in front of the fork hole.

w5x swap clutch question

I have a custom bellhousing for the w5x swap. My first question is about the slave cylinder (the old one is toast). The release arm hole is on the driver/starter side. Is there a different slave cylinder I need to use or can I use a regular 4age/t50 slave cylinder or would I use the sr5 slave becaus...
