Hey Guys,
Been on and off these forums for a few years but never put up my build for those on the other side of the world.
This car started off as being a daily driver which I drove to University etc. Was my everyday car which started with a 7agte and made 330kw atw.
I then got bored and wanted a billet 7afe crank as there have been a few failures here in NZ when using the engine for circuit racing or drifting (happens around 1-2 seasons of racing, so fairly good but I dont want it to happen to my engine).
Then decided why not increase the stroke if im going to go through all the trouble of getting a proper billet 4340 counter weighted crank custom made.
Current power output: 410kw atw E85 28psi (28psi then dropped off to 26psi by the time 8000rpm was reached as the turbo was maxed out) = approx 627hp Flywheel
346kw atw on 98 pump gas 26psi
All done on a stock blacktop head, ports not touched at all. if we put a bigger turbo on most likely could achieve around 430kw+.
Port the head and stick in bigger cams 700hp+ is easily obtainable.
It has run a 10.88@209.57kph on the 1/4 mile with 330kw and done very well on the circuit as well.
Took it to the drags and stuck on some smaller DOT drag radials from what I used to run. Result = No grip and still spinning at 200kph with 400kw.
So have brought some M&H DOT Cheater slicks. Will get back out to the drags to try run a decent 10s pass then after that back to circuit racing.

+1
There shouldn't be a day that goes by where you don't learn something new.

still looking good after all these years. a bit off topic but how much power did you make before swapping out the stock rods ?
Re: AE92 MRP Toyota Levin 9AGTE 410kw atw
I never used stock rods. I never would either.
So its always had billet conrods.

Been enjoying the car and taking it down to track days to get the handling sorted out.
Everything is going well and will be competing in the up coming Superlap.
Some in car testing, car was unstable at high speeds and on acceleration, later found both ball joints to be loose:

Re: AE92 MRP Toyota Levin 9AGTE 410kw atw
Managed to make the 1st round of the Superlap series. After spending the whole week doing stuff to get the car ready and solving fueling issues I made it out 1 min before the first session started!
Had new tyres and brake pads so did some laps to run them in and everything was feeling good.
Next run out I pushed for a few laps but found my rear end now was far too soft and glued to the track causing the front to push quite bad. So all the changes I made has made the car opposite of how it was handling. But not to worry its easy to dial out rear grip! The wing was creating so much down force in 4th that the rear wheels were so far into the guards they were rubbing in the wells!.
So backed the wing angle off, stiffened up the rear shocks for the next session. Warm up lap felt good then the gearbox selector (taking a guess thats the broken part as I cant move the gear lever now) let go so didnt get a chance to get into the setup and give my PB a good crack.
Still managed to win Pro Street and come 3rd overall. Little bit disappointed I only got in a few laps with the new setup. Next round is End Nov so will fix the box up asap.
