Kouki Coupe | Carb'd 4AG!
Okay heres the deal, my car is an 87 SR5 coupe slammed to the ground on blown shocks and whats left of some drop springs Under powered like a BOSS, but with 13's its still fun as I have recently aquired an unfinished SR5-GTS converted 86 coupe, with a Largeport 4AG from a buddy! Since my car exterior/interior wise is muchhh cleaner, and I have a thing about finishing other ppls projects, I am stripping everything from that car and using it for mine
The reason why I am going with carburetion is because I just like carbs, and Ive seen a lot a bad ass carb'd 4AG's! Any advice from you guys running carb'd setups would be great!
I'll start of with some pics of the car so far.
When I first got it, it didnt even run!~
Bodywork/Paint~
Straight Pipe!!!~
Scored a Zenki Levin Bumper!! Custom fit to my Trueno With Custom Bumper Support!~

You got a real nice project 86! A carbed 4age 16v is pretty good when done right and of course w/supporting mods. You have a lot of options on carburetors, you can go with the latest and greatest technology carburetors or you can simply stick with the old school. Here's a thread of my build if you're curious.. viewtopic.php?f=7&t=4076

Progress on the 4AG is currently at a stand still due to current job of rebuilding this 22r for a friend...

TANTALUS! Cheehu!!! Nice ur car cuz. Where u live, Kailua?
I think it comes down to personal preference, price, and availability. I got the 6AL-2 like most other carb swaps, but the Accel 500 looks pretty close, if not the same. The one thing I notice that's missing from any of um, is the ability to compensate for load like stock distributor setups used to (i.e. weights, vac advance, etc). IMO, Dr. Occa's is a good guy to get a hold of, he's helped me out a lot when I was building mine. Good luck n keep it going

SINCE MSD TIMING CURVE COMPS 8980 and 81 ARE HARD TO FIND, I WAS CURIOUS ABOUT THE ACCEL 500+ SYSTEM! Anyone know anything about this setup?

I have heard that the Hawaiian car community is just awesome and this was a way to prove it.
There shouldn't be a day that goes by where you don't learn something new.

^ Couple things. First, look up the price of Keihin FCR 41mm carburetors. Second, if you don't have access to precise machinery (a GOOD and I mean GOOD mill) it will be hell. Third, you need to be REALLY good with a TIG welder (or know someone who is). Fourth, Nothing lines up. How do i know, look at my build thread.

Re: Kouki Coupe | Carb'd 4AG!
Been really busy lately, but finally rolled the car out to the clean the bay so I can begin stripping, welding, fabbing custom rad support and what not to prepare for the 4AG. I plan on doing all of the chassis/suspension work first before I start on the engine build!
Also finished building this 22R for a friend so now I can just focus on my ****..!
Cant say I havent thought of putting a 22R in my Hachi
