Rear axle retaining nuts
Does anyone know where I can get some? Toyota is sold out across the board. It's a replace every removal item. Usually I wouldn't care, but mine are slowly getting stripped.
I would just get some from the hardware store, but they have an extended flange, and it seems like it's made like that for a reason..

Your standard metric nut with a washer will work just fine, or you can go to your local Fastenal and get
"Hex Flange nuts" Dave W7

'K nuts' would be my choice of self locking flange nuts.

Self locking is achieved with controlled deformation of part of the thread.
Interestingly they may not be available in the USA
(My Google search search defaults to '.co.uk' rather than '.com')

Awesome thanks man.
Does anyone happen to know the thread pitch, or metric size of these retaining nuts?
I don't have them on hand ATM..

10mm x 1.25mm. They aren't locking type nuts from factory.

Do you know why the factory nuts have that extended flange/lip?

Clamping force and also related to 'hardness' of the fastener, ordinary flat washers cannot exert the same force as hardened steel washers. Toyota do stuff right, that's how they roll.
