Front lower control arm bushings

Are you supposed to be able to remove the ball joints on the front lower control arms.

There may be a wire twisted up holding the ball joint rubber boot on, untwist it and then there'll be a c-clip deal around the ball joint cup, use pliers or two screwdrivers to undo that then press or hammer out the ball joint
