Beams swap question

Postby povertymobile » Mon Oct 09, 2017 8:36 pm

Hey everyone,

Please forgive me if this is a dumb question, I've searched google far and wide and cannot seem to find a solid answer.

I am in the process of swapping a beams motor into my ae86, the engine is still out & I've got an ORC 309d clutch and flywheel kit to install. My question is would I need to find torque specs for the clutch and flywheel from the documentation that came with the kit? Or would I just use the stock torque numbers from the service manual?

If I'm supposed to use the factory numbers, does anyone have those torque specs? Since the engine was only made in japan I'm having a hard time finding anything online. Also the manual for the kit is completely in Japanese so while I can see some numbers, I'm not 100% sure what they're for, (though I can found one list that had SXE10 with some numbers so I am assuming this is one I'm looking for...possibly)

Thanks for any help!

The wife says for the flywheel the torque is 107.8 nm which converts to 79.5 ft lbs. Hope that helps!

I just installed one of these with a customer. Flywheel and pressure plate bolt torques are in the manual measured in "nm." Check out the video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S07hWTs0OxI

Dude, this is so helpful. I have been putting off doing this job, but watching this helped to clear things up a little bit. Thank you.
