Throttle Body to Intake Mani gasket

Postby CloudStrife » Sun Jun 18, 2017 2:56 pm

Hey guys, putting back my Throttle body on after cleaning and installing the stock ISCV back on.

Anyone know how it's supposed to mount?

I think the 2nd image is proper mounting.. But in the 3rd image you can see a port is restricted. It seems like no matter what, this hole will be blocked no matter what the orientation.

If I do it the first way, 2 more mini ports are restricted, but I don't know if that is necessarily bad or not..

Thanks brahhhhhhhhhhs

It goes as shown in your second pic. That is a universal 16V gasket that can be used
on RWD or FWD engines...

You cam cover fumes pass thru the thottle body and are vented into the incoming air
in front of the throttle butterfly plate. Because the RWD and FWD intakes face in
opposite directions, the vent for the fumes ends up on different sides. The idle air
bypass passage vents where the throttle body is cut away, and so the gasket cannot
block anything off.

Thanks so much Johndee! Always wondered how exactly the ports functioned. This will help my understanding of the confusion world of Vaccum lines :)
