I have a few AE86 steering racks, manual and power steering the problem I'm having is working out which inner rack ends belong to which racks !
Some of the inner tie rod ends are approx 35mm long (from the flat end that butts up against the lock washer to the end where the rod comes out)
the others are shorter by about 10mm.
If anyone has a power steering rack with correct ends I wonder, could you measure them for me ? Or even maybe a manual rack with the correct ends ?
Part numbers whilst appreciated are not any use as the ends have no part numbers on them.

Some more research finds this:

There are 3 different types of AE86 inner tie rods from Toyota.

1. Manual steering ends, which are the same as the Zenki RH PS end.
2. Zenki LH PS inner tie rod end.
3. Kouki PS inner tie rod ends.

Mine is a Zenki power steering rack, could it be that it has one longer and one shorter ?

What problem are you having that you need to know the correct lengths? I have a stock PS rack with the correct rod ends and an AW11 MS rack with aftermarket ends but I also have the stock MS ends. What are you trying to accomplish?

Having the correct distance between the joints is crucial to getting a decent handling car and being a firm believer in Toyota engineers and their ability to get things right I think that the joints have different lengths for a reason.
Do you know which power steering rack you have, Zenki or Kouki ?

Ah ok thanks, Kouki is easier as both joints use the same part number but they could of course be the same part as either of the other joints.
