OBX 20V Exhaust Header on 16V

Postby Kitsunami » Wed Nov 16, 2016 7:23 am

Hey guys, I'm in the final throes of collecting parts to do a true SR5 to GTS conversion. I'm having a HELL of a time finding a stock RWD exhaust manifold for my 16V 7-rib bigport that HAS an EGR port. I'm thinking of going with this OBX Header (as it has the EGR inlet):

But it lists for just the 20V 4AGE, which I understand has 2 exterior bolts in a slightly different location(?). Is this flange modifyable to fit the 16V application by simply drilling a hole, or would it require me to weld an extension on the flange to fit?

I can't seem to figure out if the exterior bolts for the 16V is narrower than the 20V or vise versa. Any answers or suggestions are totally appreciated!

You should be able to get away with slotting the hole out to the edge and
then using a large thick steel washer under the nut. Weld a tag on and re-drill
if you are a perfectionist.

one recommendation... frequently the EGR is poorly located on aftermarket exhaust headers. I would recommend you get an extra EGR tube, because it will likely need to be bent(shaped differently) to fit the aftermarket header. By getting an extra EGR tube, you are able to retain the orignal EGR jic you do get a stock manifold, and downpipe.
