Rebuild GTS Fuel System

Postby Engmus » Tue Sep 30, 2014 8:33 am

Greetings,

Has anyone rebuilt the entirety of their AE86's GTS Fuel System?

I want to replace the tank, straps, filler neck, gaskets, fuel sender, pump, lines and any other related parts.

Are most of these things still readily available?

Any information to this goal is appreciated.

Thanks

You can remove all the paint and rust then repaint the metal pieces.

Or fabricate or source others in better shape.

I just replaced 90% of mine 2 weeks ago.

-Brand new Fuel pump bracket/Gasket/screws from Toyota.
-New Denso Fuel pump (oem replacement)
-3/8 Braided stainless/Nylon Hose +swivel ends [You should get 1 of the ends as 90 deg elbow to keep from pinching the frame]
-6AN /Metric adapter (to connect new line to bracket)
-New Fram fuel filter

New fuel tank put in a few years ago when i had a parts car.

*currently using SR5 feed line as my return to tank.

I might do a quick write up if I get a chance to snap the pics.

Do you need to replace the fuel tank? Unless it's leaking you can get a fuel tank restoration kit and clean the thing out and reseal it. I'm actually planning to do this sometime soon myself.
