LS1 corolla

Postby bananajello » Mon Jul 15, 2013 9:48 pm

hello everyone. so this is my project. I purchased the car for 300 bucks about 6 years ago from a coworker and daily drove it for about 3 years. and it was a fun car to drive got looks everywhere i went, probably cause it had one brown door. my friends called it the banana with a bruise. slowly it got rims and lowered and after a good polish the original paint came back to life

so the 3tc slowly started going and i was trying to decide what engine to swap in. and after helping my buddy with his ls1 240 i was like why not ls1 this thing! so i came accross this gem
Image
so that meant it was time to remove the old
Image
and then came the test fitting one of the hardest part getting everything lined up
Image
Image
the wiring took a couple of days
Image
the gauge cluster took me a few days aswell
Image
then figuring out the plumbing
Image
but onece everything was sorted out for the most part the car was awsome

so yeah i have alot more pics. but ill get those up later.

thanks guys

and sqznby i cant pm since i had to recreate my screen name but to answer ur questions. i made my own motor mounts and the cross member did not get cut at all. and also i have pacesetter long tube headers that were cut and rewelded, the plumbing wasn't too bad, and i have a griffin radiator also modified to fit i dont remember off hand the exact size but it was a fairly common size.

Did you use one of many kits to make your mounts? Or, did you make them from scratch?
What tranny are you using?
Do you still have your stock rear end?

thanks man, I appreciate the info

No made my own froma scratch started making them out of carboard then cut steel to make them. And it has a t56 6 speed from a camaro with a stock gts rear end.

Very cool, thanks for sharing.
Are you going to be posting more pics or do you have a build thread somewhere?

Thanks again

I like how you just LS'd it. Most people would drop a 4AGE in there for a while. :)
There shouldn't be a day that goes by where you don't learn something new.

LS1 corolla featured on MotoIQ!!

Postby ariel_86 » Mon Jan 26, 2015 9:15 am

I hope the OP doesn't mind me posting this here. I think it's freaking sweet that his car got "featured" by MotoIQ and he had a chance to meet & talk with Mr. Mike Kojima. The car looks great!
