Re: OkinawaLevin 86 - BLUE pt2
I will probably use the panzer grey for my van instead, for the car still lookin
Pastel Blue is one of my favorites. white with a hint of blue. First saw it on a KP Starlet, nearly crashed my car from staring at it while driving by.
Grabber Green is kinda cool
Even Grabber Orange is sexy
Hell, maybe I'll pay homage to the king and paint her Bullitt Green, haha
Damn, that Grabber Orange is really growing on me

Re: OkinawaLevin 86 - BLUE pt2
There was a break in the rain long enough for me to start putting her back together. I will leave the sidesteps off for JCI inspection. I will also install the rear overfenders. I will leave it up to the shop to run it through JCI with or without the overfenders.
Kaze's old 86 that is now his uncle Skrappys girl. Kaze and I will share mine. I will eventually build another for Kaze. Skrappy's been bustin ass on this girl, got big plans for her.

You are the other guy building a 3S swap on Oki right? How is it coming? And thank you for the positive feedback, it fuels me to get her done quicker. Now that New Years is over, gotta wait for my JCI guy to open back up on the 6th to get my girl road legal.

She had a problem starting, troubleshot, she purrs now
Got the rear overfenders on, all I have to do is put the other hood on her for JCI
Head of Team Hinga Australia, Skrappy and his sidekick Dai
JCI hood on. It's FRP too, but this one has the windshield squirter holes and no duct. Dunno if duct is kosher with the inspectors, but I do need washer holes
Kaze old 86 and my girl nose to nose
Dai watching over the Hinga garage

I wish that you could update more often but I understand that these things take time.

Re: OkinawaLevin 86 - BLUE pt2
Bought the Techno Toy Tuning AE86 rear interior panels, not happy
First off the rear shelf panel overhangs a bit more than I would like. You cannot use your rear seat with this panel installed because it covers the seat hooks that secures the rear seat. Also the panel could have been wider to fully cover the rear shelf. Pretty shitty
Then there is the rear side panels. It is a half-assed design. Would be nice if it covered more. When I lined up the mount holes, the panel was crooked and low
So I grabbed some sheet metal screws and lined it up the may I wanted it and tapped that ****.
Finished installing the dash, still gotta tuck wires and hook up the CB abd CD player, will do after inspection

Added a GT wing
Re: OkinawaLevin 86 - BLUE pt2
How do your wheels even spin with that much downforce?!

Yeah, might be overkill, hahaha
Plans have changed with my build. Now that I have a 2 year extension over here on Okinawa, I'm breaking out my old turbo motor. I have everything I need to put it together, except a downpipe, which I will get made locally. It will run a gated to4e on a HKS manifold. The motor has been rebuilt, head ported with 264/272 cams. Will also need bigger injectors, not dealing with ghetto subinjector setup again. I'll keep this updated
I love the sound of ITB's, but miss the sound of the screaming wastegate on the old gal

Re: OkinawaLevin 86 - BLUE pt2
These wheels were in pretty rough shape, so I sanded them and prepped for paint, I was bored
I had some black, silver, panzer grey, pearl blue metallic, and some white. I decided to mix the silver and panzer grey which became gunmetal grey
Turned out pretty nice
Set up the gun and loaded it up
The tires are garbage, so no masking needed, first of many coats
Mixed quite a bit of paint so I prepped these and painted them too
Still had paint left over so I shot these Wats that I will be selling soon
Turned out pretty good, I like it
I will wetsand the lips and clear next weekend

She is still chillin in the garage now, but hopefully will be on the road soon. My 11yo son Kaze is coming for the Summer and purchasing his $2000+ plane ticket is priority. BUT I'm also trying to get the car on the road before he gets here. Yesterday I spent all morning juggling paperwork and parts to get my 32 outta my name. That cost me around $400 because I hadn't paid the road tax on her since I garaged her 4 years ago, kinda sucked, BUT she is outta my name and now I have a opening for my 86. Thought about making her J-plate, but with my 4th marriage on the rocks, I refuse to risk loosing my car in a divorce. All that is left is to Insure and JCI her and she is G to G. I'm itchin to drive her
Plus once she is paper legal, then the fun mods will begin, I got a ton of great stuff for her just sittin in my storage room

Love this thing. Nut riveter gun
Gave my girl some piercings
After JCI inspection, all of that grey under the overfender will be cut out.
Both overfenders mounted, got the pass corner light off of an extremely rusty 86, still gotta hit it with some polish

Re: OkinawaLevin 86 - BLUE pt2
Breathing life into some old AE86 Levin headlights I got from my bro Skrappy. The glass was covered in a thick rust film. So I scraped it with a razor blade. Was absolutely stoked to see the reflector in good shape. Ill remove n chuck the old rusty brackets then clean them up
pulled the glass
Beautiful, not bad for almost 30 years old
Painted and sealed. Still needs a little cleaning. replaced the upper and lower eyelids
A Clockwork Orange
overhauled headlights installed. I missed these on my old car "Blue"

Nice work. Does the glass come apart easily from the housing?
