EP91 Starlet Glanza V

Postby AE86Kai » Fri May 17, 2013 6:05 pm

Hello everyone.
I was away from here after my accident and I just wanted to update my status as of May 2013.

Here is my current daily that is once again, EP91 Starlet Glanza V.
I did try my best to locate my next AE86 that I just could not find perfect one within my limited time and budget.
...but, may be some day, after my both kids grows up, I might able to purchase my 3rd AE86 again.....

Yes, I had a white one before and this is my 2nd EP91.
I just love this little monster with 1.3 L Turbo engine that is actually pretty quick and fun for FWD.
As you may know, there are no other cars like this available at today`s market, too.
(Well, at least in Japan.)

Within this past 4 years, my history goes like this.
AE86 GT-S Coupe -> EP91 Glanza V -> AE86 Levin Coupe -> EP91 Glanza V.....

Image

When I purchased this little monster, it was completely stock.
So far, my little upgrades are Kouki Bumper + Kouki Front Corner Lens + Rear Lens, Complete Suspension (KYB New SR Special + TEIN S.TECH + RSR Lateral Rod) and set of P1 Racing + Yokohama (185/55R15).

...and some accessories that I saved from the past, steering wheel, stereo...etc.

Why cant we have cool little cars like this in the states...lol

I was away from the forums for a while, came back to them being rebooted. I remembered your coupe build so I went to check on it in the archived site and saw that it was totaled, glad you are ok, sucks for the 86 though. I'm sure a lot of people who followed your old build would be interested in seeing this build also so post away!

Thank you very much for your kind comments.
(...& yes, I am still trying to get used to this new layout as well.)

It is really good to know that someone still remember my old cars.
I am quite not sure what I am going to do with this "little monster" but, I will try my best to update again.

Green Poison Mushroom by HKS made the boost kick in little quicker and raised about 0.1kg/cm2...best 3,000 yen I spend so far. (Powered by Yahoo Auction Japan).

Yeah, I know right. I read somewhere that they are already at 300whp on premium gas. They were in the process of prepping a 5E-FHE shortblock for more boost on E85. Thuis was like nearly two years ago...

When I replaced my bumper to Kouki, I lost my OEM Zenki lip.
It seems like Kouki lip is already discon. in Japan that I decided to go with aftermarket.
Something simple & clean....I just ordered LIVE SPORTS front lip (type-C) that I should have them soon... :P

Very nice, sir! This car is very cool. I love the interior and the trim.
It definitely looks like a very fun car.

I was not aware your old 86 was damaged =(
That was such a perfect example and a shame it is gone. Your cars are always great!

[DIY Seat Repair]
This RECARO SR3 came with a car that driver side bottom side cushion had damage that I just could not stand.
After quick research, it seems like it was easy to disassemble that I decided to give it a try to fix it by myself.

Check for damage....ugly!!!

...here is the result.
All for less than $8.00 including new gun and silicone.
I should have done this earlier....

Now I know how to disassemble the SR series.
