Awesome, how much did they set you back?
I think I might have to order from that shop that you went to!

check this out -->> http://www.3tcgarage.com/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=13466

Josh,
how long has it been since you ordered those bearings from BRD? have you dealt with brd before?

How much would it cost to build up the block?

I am shooting for about 320hp, if that would even require it, I hear that those are very stout engines.

It depends on what you are capable of doing and how much you want to spend.

From some of the searching I have done and chatted with a couple of 3tc guys, that is capable on a stock motor with boost.
Not sure how long it would last but its definately capable. A guy I chat with in Iowa nows a dude with a stock 3tc, he added
a turbo and went in the 7s in the 1/4. They are very stout, thats what drew me to them, small compact powerhouses.
I was fortunate enough to find a complete spare motor/tranny locally to. I am planning on doing the same thing, build my spare.
The only difference I'm doing is going fuel injected instead of boosting it. I think an injected 3tc would be pretty awesome, then later on boost it.

Hey Guys sorry Mothers Day was crazy...

Ok I will now answer questions in thread...

redroku87 - the block alone was about 950.00 that includes:

K547M87 Wiseco Pistons Toyota Corolla 16V 1.8L 3TC 87mm 7.5:1
CRS4850TA3D Eagle H-Beam Rods Toyota Corolla 3TC
203-4206 RP Toyota 1.6L (2TC) & 1.8L (3TC) 12pt head stud kit
C4258-040 Cometic Head Gasket 87mm .040 Toyota Corolla 1.6L 2TC 3TC

Head was rebuilt and was roughly 500.00: that includes:

Stainless Steel Valves and Bronze Valve Guides
Luckily my head was in good shape
Also my fabricator does all head porting so I do not have to pay a machine shop
Block had to be bored and honed with was the brunt of the 500.00
Cam was sent off to be reground and also got new cam bearings

Turbo:

New Precision 6262

I ordered the cam bearings from BRD the sales guy was a retard and didnt enter my credit card properly and the parts didnt get ordered i had to call and get them ordered again they came in last week FINALLY.

sqznby : You are spot on that is the build that my fabricator is working on as well.. if you are interested in getting info shoot him a PM.

redroku87 : They will handle roughly about 200 NA and about 250 Turbo if you are going over that I would suggest at least building the block if you want to reach 300.

sqznby: My build will be boost and injected for your info just havent gotten there yet... :) We were going to go blow thorugh but he wants to take it EFI.

I knew that intake looked familiar, hah. He does some nice work.
I'm interested in what he is going to do for the fuel injected manifold. Has he gone over it with you?

The block looks great. What exactly did you have done to it? Cost? If you dont mind sharing, you can PM me if you'd like.
Are you assembling it?

Its coming along man, I get excited every time I see a new post in your thread, hah. Its going to be some time before I'm at this point.
Great job man

Hey Guys so info :

Block consisted of boring and honing and installation of cam bearing by Goza roughly about 500.

Assembly should be shortly now that we have all of the parts. The cam should be in we sent it out to be reground.

Hows the motor coming along?

Where did you get the stainless valves in stock dimensions? Could you send me a link?
Looks like I'm going to have to do my head sooner than later.
Thanks
