My Ae86 coupe

Postby elopezae86 » Thu May 15, 2014 2:37 pm

Hey wassup everyone. After countless night of doing research and browsing this site. I figured i would make a account and post some pics.My car is a simple build. I have a lot of big dreams for it, but unfortunatly this is were my car is at. I have a rebuilt engin, stock rods, pistons, crank. Only upgrads to the block have been some arp bolt for rods and main. Head is compleyly stock. I switched the intake to some dcoe mikuni solex carb. And i set up a edis 4 with a megajolt. Not expecting power from this. It more of a shallow build focusing on looks and fun factor.

Yea it sucks. But im getting the car back together lil by lil. And the leak seem to have come from bottom of one of the carbs. With that and having the fpr and fuel pump directly in front of carb opening it was a recipe for disaster. Ill post more pics soon. The engine bay is coming along pretty well so far.

So i pulled the engine and decided id like to do a semi engine shave and paint. so this is a few shots from that process. I welded the holes I wanted to cover. I sanded them down. Then I used bundle to smooth it all out.

Ok the finishing paint. I went with a off white. I forget the color code, but it looks similar to vanilla.

Ok i had the engine out. It has already been rebuilt. I wanted to go with a more stock color because i get tired of the after market colors fast..You can see the techno toy tunning crank and crank trigger here for the edis.

I hit the junkyards up got a 2nd edis 4 and some coil on plugs from a mid 90's camry. Wired it all up with my exsiting edis setup and got her started. Just have to dome cleaning up and some final touches and she will be on the road again.
