when does the "charge" light come on in a AE86
i was wondering when does the charge light come on in a ae86? i just finished a swap and i want to make sure i have everything wired right.

Usually when the battery or alternator goes out..

It should come on, when you turn the key to "on" before you start the car.

ok mine doesnt come on when i turn the key in the "on" position.... great. back to the drawing board.

Check wiring at the alternator plug, the wires are known to crack there, then follow the wiring to the fuse/relay box. Hopefully its something stupid, like a cracked wire.

does it go to the firewall connector to the gauge cluster?

If you look at the wires or a wiring diagram, you will know.... Alternator -> Relay box(by the battery).
Disco' the battery,
Start at the alternator, Disco' alternator connections.
Inspect the connectors, the wiring, and the spots on the alternator where they plug in.
If they look good, continue to follow the wires, check for cracks, bare spots, stuff like that.
As your attorney I advise you to get the FSM(download that ish, it's free.99), fix your car, and drive at top speed to bat country.
