For 9 years I've continued to use the ugly, heavy, chrome abominations the previous owner swapped the 1986 OEM Snowflakes for. After getting home from Schwab today, I weighed them: 19.5 LBS!!! For 14" wheels! WHY?
No longer.
Supra L-type. 14x5.5 and 14.5 lbs each. They look a lot like GTS pizza cutters, but with a much cooler hubcap. I'm very pleased.
I heard you guys like Supra wheels

I like supras... 20 lbs isnt that drastic of a difference to justify the high offset. but too each his own, and if you like it then rock it. I see your pleased so thats all that matters.
Re: I heard you guys like Supra wheels
It's worth it just to have clean wheels. Like buying a $20 pair of Chuck Taylors after 10 years of wearing worn-out Reeboks while you save up for Air Jordans.
Re: I heard you guys like Supra wheels
Apparently, these rims also came on 3rd-generation Celicas. +27 offset like the OEM Snowflakes, so not the sexiest setup. A set of spacers may be in my near future.
I also came across these:
They appear visually similar, but they don't seem to have a hubcap. Perhaps these were a European dealership option?

The Supras weigh 19.5lbs? I'll keep my weakass Hayashi's in that case.

No, the crappy chrome wheels were 19.5. The Celica / Supras are 14.5
I weighed the old wheels after mounting the new ones. (After taking the tires off.)
