I have decided to go with a new carpet from stockinteriors.com. there's a listing for a 2 door 84-87 (#3974) and liftback 84-87 (#8121). I'm not sure if those just mean coupe and hatch, or could the liftback be for some other corolla that wasnt available in US market? just hate to order the wrong part and have to eat shipping costs...

dont want to end up with something for one of these guys on accident:

I got the 3974 - Toyota Corolla '84-'87 Molded Carpet 2 Door (Color: 8935-Steel Blue Plush Cut Pile) My car is a blue/blue two-tone, so I got a lighter blue carpet to match the dark blue interior. It requires more cleaning, but it looks pretty good.

You'll need a really sharp knife / good pair of heavy duty scissors. Be very careful, make lots of measurements.
