Well, track sessions and operators have done nothing to discourage or prevent any AE86's from coming. But for some reason, there haven't been many out there these days.
One reason I can attest to be true is that AE86 has become in the last 10 years, VERY expensive and time consuming to upkeep from the standpoint of not having availability of major parts like engine and transmissions from normal dealer networks.
AE86's also are very expensive collector cars today among true restoration and classics owners, and are increasingly expensive to own/buy/replace as well.
Some have replaced/bought other cars for track duties, so the owners are frequently out there, but not in their AE86's.

Perhaps with the increased risks of a car that's becoming more expensive, it will be necessary to hold a special event for them that classifies them in their own run groups or entire days dedicated, to give more incentive as well as better safety measures at the events.

That could be something like an American """N2""" series...? If that's the case, man, then I'd really hate my situation of having to leave the States...

Damnit, car is ready for smaller events, don't have the tires for streets yet... Next year for sure. Question Moto, do you think a 4.7 final drive would be okay at streets?
