Posted this on my build log too, got the idea from 4ag archives. Grabbed a distribution block off a bmw in the junkyard and cleaned up my battery connections some. the previous owner had hackjob'd it to run an optima battery, i kept the battery and did a cleaner hack job lol.

Image

nicer and much safer than the previous "ditribution block":

Found out that a couple of my metal lines were not moving freely for the cold and hot settings on ac panel. Used some pb blaster and liquid wrench to free up the heater valve and lines. Found broken plastic pieces behind ac panel. Used superglue and baking soda for a cheap fix (got the idea from guy on youtube). Found a paper clip to compensate for missing plastic piece that broke. Just waiting for new ac panel face plate (found one with ac cutout finally), led light, and ac control knobs (broke them while taking them off).

More random things that i can do for little to no cost. :) Got an elbow from the junk yard and mocked up these intake pieces. Now i just need to find a filter that will fit (and/ or a different elbow to have more space for the filter) and make a hanger to stabilize things. just keeping busy while i save money for the "real" upgrades.

I went camping for my birthday in the Angeles National Forrest. The cats on my Bronco are clogged and I need tires on the old pickup so guess which car got to go camping. Luckily it's a hatch. The carb wasn't too happy in the cold and altitude, but since it was only for the weekend I figured it wasn't worth adjusting.

^ Nice. Like the way you secured your intake. Did you also use a silicone 45 degree elbow from the afm to throttle body?

I put in some brand new in-box bumper lenses to replace the one I broke on the freeway hitting a truck tire, and then took it up to the mountains to really get in touch with what it means to own an AE86.

Hey guys pretty new to posting here, been lurking for ages. Got my car a couple months ago, changed the rear main seal and the trans output shaft seal while I was in there. Changed the wires and plugs to NGK, changed the starter, and some smog related things and passed smog... and cleaned her up as well as I could. Everyone keeps talking to me about this car haha.

Anyway, it started to rain today, and I couldn't do what I wanted to (finish clay bar-ing the hood) - so I took her out sliding for a bit ^_^

The SR-5 is pretty capable, even with a whining rear end. Pretty sure my ring and pinion are bad as well as my bearings so I've been thinking about getting a spool. I looked up how to set the backlash and bearing preload. I could get the tools and everything for it, but I think I might just hold off to get a GT-S rear end since I need brakes too.

Sweet Car Ritz ^. Replaced my slave and clutch master cylinder. Sore back after getting the four brake booster flange/nuts off from the inside of the car. So much better but very annoying task to say the least. Pic below is the booster moved out just enough to get the flange nut back on while balancing it on my two fingers

^If you slightly trim the nub at the end of that clutch master fastener there's enough room to get a ratcheting wrench on there without having to loosen the booster. I was even able to trim the fastener with a pocket hacksaw while everything was installed, but it was a pita.
