FS: 1973 Toyota Celica $4000 *WEEKEND ONLY PRICING*

Postby Agent_R » Sun Aug 30, 2015 10:10 pm

I have for sale a 1973 Toyota Celica. This is the first generation these cars were made. This car is a pre-1975 so it is smog excempt(it never has to be smogged). This car is in very good condition with only a few items needing to be addressed for it to be roadworthy. This car has ZERO rust(excluding some light surface rust inside the trunk) and is a lifetime CA car. The chassis is in great condition with little to no dents or attention worthy defects. The paint is in need of a wet sand and buff with a few small areas in need of spot painting. The original seats are in beautiful condition front and rear with little to no defects. Mechanically the car is in good condition and runs and drives fine, but at the moment it doesn't have a downpipe or exhaust piping after the header and because of that I would recommend it be towed or at the least I would have someone following closely behind. Besides that there are no other issues mechanically. It also has a 5SPD manual transmission from a later model Celica. As of 6/1/2015 all of the following items have been replaced;

-Brand New Exedy OEM Clutch Kit installed($80 value)
-Brand New Koyorad Radiator installed($300 value)
-Brand New Low-Range Off-road Bomb Proof Solid Motor Mounts installed($100 value)
-Oil, Brake, Clutch, and Transmission fluids all replaced($100 value)

The car has a CLEAN TITLE, with EXPIRED registration. This car has been pretty much sitting for the past 3yrs. As of 8/31/15 it has slightly under $300 in backfees to bring it to Sept/2016 tags. I've adjusted the price slightly to account for that. I'm asking $4000 for the car and this price is good for this weekend ONLY. I want this thing sold. These cars go for much more than what I have it posted for and I came to this price factoring in mainly the fees and small amount of work it will need to be roadworthy. The car is located in Fresno, CA. I can be reached via email or text/call at 916-534-0817. Serious inquiries ONLY. Here's your chance to own a rare and sought after Japanese classic. Thanks for looking.

Great for a swap and AE86 Suspension, brakes, rearend, etc will bolt right up with little to no modifications. No reasonable offer will be refused. Motivated seller. Bump.

I can see a price range for the new parts added, but this was $1000 less on craigslist. To sell this thing fast you should have invested cash into paying the fees at least imo. I really wanted to inquire about this car but I don't want to take over someone else's debt or negligences, not trying to talk mess. I hope it does sell though looks like a great starting point glws!

You must've misread something up there. As of 8/31/15(2-3 days ago) I called into DMV to get an accurate price on the fees and was told that for the new buyer the only fees that transfer are going to equate to less than $300 to get the registration to current(meaning pay that and the tags will be good until Sept.2016). I thought that there were $1300 of fees but there are no more than $300, so I brought the price closer to market value factoring the condition of the chassis and the new parts installed whoever buys it is getting a great deal. I've seen these cars going for this price in half the condition mine is in with rusted out floorboards, spare tire wells, etc. Also I've said multiple times that I'm accepting offers. My price is far from firm. Feel free to contact me directly if you are interested. Thanks.

I'll pay you 3 sticks of 5 gum, a quarter jar of peanut butter, and this Yu-Gi-Oh card I found on the ground 20 minutes ago.

GLWS, man. :lol:
