Poncams available again

Postby yoshimitsuspeed » Thu Oct 02, 2014 9:20 pm

I wasn't able to get Tomei cams for a while and I know they were hard to come by elsewhere too.
My distributor finally got the first batch in. It looks like availability may still be intermittent for a while but there are currently two or three sets available for the 16v and one or two sets available for the 20v.
If you are interested in Poncams let me know or you can buy them here. \

would you recommend these on a turbo setup?

I would recommend something like the Kelford 193-T for a turbo build.

The poncams should work okay but may benefit more from gears than the 193-T. The lift and duration aren't too far off but it's likely that the poncams have different cam timing with more overlap to better suit the NA application.
Of course whether or not overlap is bad will also greatly depend on your setup, pre turbine back pressure to compressor ratio and things like that.

Without cam gears the 193-T should be significantly better but the poncam should still give you a nice little bump. Kinda depends on whether or not you wanted to drop the $100 more for a cam designed for boost.
