Let us say there are 2 cars both with 4AGE 20V Blacktop engines. All parameters are the same including the driver, the only difference is the other has the oem LSD C56 5 speed transmission and the other has the C160 oem LSD 6 speed transmission.
Who would win the quarter mile drag?
C56 vs C160
Re: C56 vs C160
I believe the C56 is just a fraction faster, but is a far more reliable gearbox if i believe all the people.
the C160 seems to be one of the weakest gearboxes.

quarter mile drag? C56. The extra shift the C160 makes will ultimately slow the times.

Re: C56 vs C160
C160 ftw..no doubt about it, ask me how I know...shorter gearing will give it much faster acceleration out the hole and will leave the c56 in the dust in the 1/4 mile...c56 will only out top speed the c160 in mph in the long run.
Re: C56 vs C160
I have a C160, would not change to C56, I really enjoy the ratios...
As for top-end, I dont know abt the C56 catching.
The only downside is the crown and pinion is very weak.

Generally for drag racing you want longer gears.
