Has anyone ever removed the distributor drive cog on a SMALLPORT distributor?
There is no pin to remove...

It is pressed on. You need to press it off AFTER you have marked the shaft and gear so that
you can press it back on in exactly the same alignment and distance up the shaft as it was before.

Thanks Jondee.
Good call on the reference mark, used both for depth and tooth position.
I know that the pin type can be fitted 180° out and the distributor will only just have enough adjustment to get the timing required.
Been there, done that!
Pressing the drive on makes sense, if it should come loose it will just spin on the shaft.
If a pin comes loose and drops out....
