16v Bluetop missing under load between 2000 - 3000rpm

Postby ttocskcaj » Thu Apr 06, 2017 2:48 am

My 16v Bluetop is missing under load between 2000 - 3000rpm
Any advice on what a common cause could be or where to start looking?
The problem started yesterday with no warning after driving around town.
Have already checked for diagnostics codes and there's nothing.

I'd begin by checking ignition components - cap, rotor, wires, coil, and igniter

Checked the spark. It seems good and strong.

I feel like it could be fuel but I don't have a pressure meter to test it. Any tips on doing it without special tools?

If you can drive thru the rpm range where the missing is happening, and the car then pulls
strong and clean thru the higher rpm's, then fuel is not yout problem.

Might be worth checking your ignition timing.
