Piston ring question

Postby Alex170984 » Wed Sep 28, 2016 1:31 pm

Hi all,

I was going to buy these Pistons tomorrow http://www.ebay.com/itm/TC2989-020-DOME ... Xd&vxp=mtr but last week they were $169 and today they are $225!!

I have found the same Pistons http://aaaaautomotive.com/?product=new- ... tc2989-020

Can I use these rings with them? http://www.ebay.com/itm/PR926-20-Chrome ... SwL7VWp4op

I cannot find the clevite piston rings separately...

Help appreciated!!

Size wise, those rings should be correct. If you're unsure about the DNJ brand, you can pick up Honda Prelude B20 piston rings by a brand like NPR. I posted about it here a while back.

I do have a set of DNJ smallport pistons which I still haven't used. The quality seems OK, don't know about their rings though.

I believe they are correct.......

Here - http://www.dnjecat.com/ do a look up of a 1991 Toyota Corolla, "engine components". The description for PR926 - 1.2 x 1.5 x 2.8 is correct for high comp pistons. Extrapolating then that the PR926.20 would be the correct rings in .020" OS....

I actually found out from the eBay vendor that the rings are from DNJ which come with his pistons. So clevite pistons do not have clevite rings.

But you have confirmed that the rings are correct :)
