40mm rod bearings question

I'm posting this here because it's something relating to the 4A-FE and the early 4A-GE. Both gens of 4A-FE rods and of course early bigport GE rods have 40mm big ends. But the bearing part numbers are different. Any ideas why that is?

Mark 1 bearings used as examples.

4A-FE:
13041-15030-01 (superseded by 13041-15031-01)

4A-GE:
13041-16040-01

Is it something about the GE bearings being for higher RPM / "race use?" Are the rod IDs slightly different? Rod widths are different?

If you visit the Mahle/clevite web site, they indicate the same P/N CB1361P bearing for both motors.

Thanks Dave. It's odd that Toyota changed the part number if the parts themselves did not change.

It is common for OEM,s to change part numbers when they change suppliers, just for tracking/tracing. We will possibly never know why the P/N change.
