Hello, I was wondering....
What's the best option for alternators on the AE92 4AGZE?
I got the GZE from Japan from an AE92 Levin GTZ. (not sure if that matters)
Jw what's the best brand to choose
Thanks in advance
Alternator Preference
Re: Alternator Preference
On my old 4AGZE I ran the Duralast one for an AE86. Had to go through about 3 of them before I found one that worked longer than a month though. They do have a lifetime warranty which is a plus, just takes time to find a good one unless you're lucky.

I've read about Bosch? Some say it's great but some I've heard say stick with denso.

I'm with UNLIMITED 86 on this one. There are quite a few shops that can do this for you. You can have your alternator built to your specs as well! Have a high current rating for a lot of audio equipment or lower output for less load on the engine for track. I had the alternator in my '83 Celica wound for 200 amps, it had 1.5k watts back in 1990. I miss that car.
