87 MR2 Build

Postby HelpPlease » Sun Dec 18, 2016 5:07 pm

ok guys as my username suggest I am completely lost in what I am doing.
I got my 87 off a buddy who was building it. (he moved to TN and didn't have the time or money to take the car with him so he gave it to me)
I am trying to get rid of as much stuff as possible wiring harnesses included. however I do no know which wires I need to keep and which ones I can just get rid of all together.

I just cant find wiring schematics on the web to figure out which is which. :?:

any help would be appreciated.

my friend mentioned AW11.

i am new to Toyota so i don't know what that means.

Moved your topic to the TECH section.

I am not sure exactly what your plan is but, I found lots of wiring diagram at link below.
If you are completely lost, I highly suggest you to take it to professional...especially, if you are fixing electrical.
BTW, AW11 is a chassis code for your 1987 Toyota MR-2. Good luck with your build... :)

What do you mean by 'get rid of as much stuff as possible'?

Are you continuing with the build?

You can't really get rid of any wires in the harness as they are all needed.

The link AE86Kai has listed is great and should sort you right out.

I only want what is necessary to start and run the car. headlights and tail lights i can wire in myself. i am going to keep the engine harness intact. just modding the body harness.
