serching for e series parts

well guys like the tittle said im searching for e series transmission parts, e-52 more in specifics since my car its fwd and i want to put a stronger transmission on my car.

Why would you want an E series trans? Look for a later C-56. The E series is heavier, and has taller gearing to take advantage of more lower end grunt. The 4AGE has a powerband that just doesn't work well with the E trans gearing. If you could source a C-56 from a 20v, preferably a black top 20v, you'd have a stronger trans and possibly closer 3/4 ratios. You could even upgrade to a 6-speed trans from a 20v powered Corolla. The later, mid 90s, Corollas have stouter trannys as well. They were built beefier to handle the extra torque output of the 7AFE engines and the increased weight of those years Corollas. Save yourself the headache and stay with a C series trans.

c series are not holding the torque that the car its making(400 fpt) thats why im thinking in the e series transmission.

Did the AE92 smallport 4A-GZE (that we did not get in the US) have an E series gearbox? I would think that would be stout enough.

ok i friend of mine have a e153 trans out of a mr2 turbo that he said that if fit a 4age he would give it to me do that trans fit 4ages too.thanks

MR2 turbo, if that's the 2nd gen it's a 3S-GTE. So an A engine probably won't fit that bell housing. Although looking up the E153, it seems it's used on both the Camry V6 (1MZ-FE) and the 3S. Odd that the same trans is used for both engines. Unless the bell housings are different.

apparently you can use the e153 transmission with the e51 bellhousing on the 4ages but im still looking for more info

True, I didn't think of that. I believe all E series bell housings (except the newer 6 speeds) can be interchanged with other E series casings (or whatever the rest of it is called). There's also the Corolla All-Trac which came with a 4A-FE, but it is an AWD gearbox, and the starter is on the intake side. I don't know on which side the starter is for an E51. Or if that matters to you. You would just need the correct backing plate.

There are also "wide" and "narrow" gear E series transmissions. I think one way to identify them is by the end cover over the 5th gear assembly. The stamped steel cover means it's a narrow gear, an aluminum cover is a wide gear. I'm pretty sure the Camry V6s had the wide gears. I know my CAT has the narrow gears. The wide gears are supposed to be more durable than the already-supposedly-durable E series gears.

I have a manual transmission from a late model ae92 gtz corolla that I don't need. I thought it was an E58 trans but honestly I'm not sure, It came attached to my smallport 4agze from Japan. I'm not going to be using it as ill be mounting the 4agze in an FR configuration in my 1st gen celica. Shoot me an email if you are interested, I can't PM here for some reason.
