The joys of mass-produced parts (head casting)

Postby Rogue-AE95 » Fri Jun 10, 2016 6:37 pm

OST's recent post of his OST-39 work brought this back to mind.

So recently I started the long process (because I like to take my time on projects) of removing the engine & gearbox from my AE95. I decided to pull the intake manifold to make it easier to separate the engine from the gearbox, which has to be rotated a little before it can be removed (to clear the transfer case). Anyways with the IM off, I had a look into my 1st gen 4A-FE's ports. In port 4 I found this beauty:

I'm glad I took the IM off and saw this. I'm thinking about attacking it with my Dremel. Carefully of course, can't have shavings getting sucked into the engine :?
