Re: 4agze techno toy pulley kit help
Paint on the pulley? Should be anodized. The fit should be snug, not necessarily tight. Since it is aluminum, when it's cold it can shrink to a tight fit. This is done so the pulley fits the crank snout without play at operating temps. But try this. Set the pulley in the sun or heat it up in the oven(dry heat) to about 200*f and try to slide it on. The pulley should expand enough at that temp. IF, IF, you don't get it all the way on, DON'T use a hammer and don't use the pulley bolt to suck it down. It's too soft to beat on and you don't want to mess up the threads in the crank snout. In such a case heat the pulley with a hairdryer or heat gun EVENLY and try giving it a nudge. If you need a bit more than pushing use a 1 1/4" PVC or ABS pipe section and tap lightly with a dead blow hammer, while the pulley is hot. Don't use a socket, it'll mar the finish and ding the aluminum. Good luck and have fun! Hope this helps.
One shot, one kill.
